Since February 2022 the iSSI® (intelligent Space System Interface) Modular Coupling Kit by iBOSS GmbH is being demonstrated and tested in orbit aboard the International Space Station ISS. In the course of this US mission conducted by Skycorp Incorporated in collaboration with SpaceBD and funded by the Defense Innovation Unit DIU, so far, continuous long-term power and data transfer as well as ad-hoc testing of various coupling scenarios have been demonstrated successfully, while the mission is still on until December 2022. The award-winning iSSI® with its unparalleled features is THE connector for ISAM (in-orbit servicing, assembly and manufacturing) paving the way for ultimate plug&play in space to support the development of future space infrastructure and associated logistics.
