CORE Motorsports

Professionelles SimRacing Team

30/03/2018

CORE Motorsports will take a break from active Simracing.

Most of you already noticed our top drivers decided to leave the team. They represented CORE for a long time on a very high level in simracing and we are still very proud that they did so. The team were known for beeing highly competitive in almost every race we took part, especially endurance events. CORE became a brand in Simsport achieved by very talented and passionate drivers. But sometimes it´s time to try something new, to make the next step. There is no disput, we still get along very well.

The team exists for more than 8 years and almost every teammember is part of it for years. We were a group of people which had a lot of fun also beside the track. Not all of us were driving on top level and not all of us were active simracers all the time. But when we met in person we definately had a good time, every time.

However as a team we decided to take a break from active simracing. Maybe you´ll see a CORE-car now and then on the grid, but very occasionally and not on the same level as before. Most of us will be at the Simracing Expo this year. Maybe as the same kind of group as last year.

There are no definite plans for the near future, but someday CORE will return to top level simracing.

Lastly we want to wish our dear friends who left the team all the best. Alex, Andre, Kay, Laurin, Moritz and Nils, we will see you at the Nürburgring in September, so keep clean and don't let everyone in the dark about where you guys are driving in the future for too long. People are anxious to know! Big thanks to our partners HEUSINKVELD and Fi-Tech, which were cooperating with CORE for a long time.

Bathurst 12 Hours winner! 🥇
Our drivers Moritz and Laurin did an awesome job keeping the car out of any trouble whilst maintaining a fast pace to the win!

10/02/2018

The first iRacing 12h of Bathurst has started. Moritz Löhner and Laurin Heinrich started the race from P3 with our Porsche 911 Cup and are now leading the race!
There are still plenty of hours to go to bring our baby back home. Keep pushing boys!

03/02/2018

We are excited to announce Laurin Heinrich as the newest member of CORE Motorsports!
The 16 year old german from Würzburg is an up-and-coming simracer and already well-known in the simracing community. After taking a break from virtual racing to focus on his real life racing efforts in the german ADAC Formula 4 championship, Laurin is now set to strengthen our team further and take the next step in simracing.
Laurin will be primarily focusing on racing the NEO Endurance series and further endurance events like the 12h of
Bathurst which will be his first race with us.
He already proved to be of great value for the team and we are looking forward to a great future together!

"It's a pleasure for me to join CORE Motorsports because with them you are competitive and have fun with friends at the same time. I'm looking forward to race in their colours in the iRacing world."

Welcome Laurin!

We're getting closer and closer to the weekend.

Last year's winner Angelo Michel, our very own little posterboy from Bavaria, will try to defend his title in this year's ADAC Simracing Trophy. Going into the contest with the #1 on the car, Angelo won the Simracing Trophy 2016 with a margin of 0.5s in front of his teammate Kay Kaschube.

The win of this prestigious competition helped Angelo to be able to afford his own drivers license with only 16 years. Make sure to watch out for him and his enthusiastic dad to say hello ;)

The whole team is looking forward to the contest, as it has already proven to be one of the most competitive Championships out there in SimRacing.

BPGT Series 2017 #6, Nürburgring 10/09/2017

2017 Nurburgring

The last round of the iRacing Blancpain GT Series has brought us finally a podium finish.

A difficult series is coming to an end, where Kay and Alex could show in the last round at the Nürburgring that the pace was quite there this year, but we never were able to unleash our full potential. Due to some technical problems and unlucky situations we just missed the Top 5 in the Championship, which CoRe SimRacing decided for themselves. Congratulations again!

See you all next year!

Race Report BPGT #2 Brands Hatch GP

Round two of the iRacing Blancpain GT Series was held at Brands Hatch, south-east of London, England. After a difficult start to the season, with a poor result for both teams at Monza two weeks ago, we were eager to get a good result with both cars.

Qualifying was decent, with André putting the Heusinkveld CORE Motorsports #66 car 12th on the grid and Kay the #33 in 14th. Once again though, a McLaren MP4-12C piloted by F. Rasmussen (CoRe SimRacing) snatched Pole Position. Things looked to be differently for the race though.

It was a good clean start for both our cars. André and Kay managed to stay out of any trouble and were running just outside of the top 10. Soon things on track were heating up though and both cars found themselves in difficult spots. Stuck in traffic and running with a big group of cars things were progressing slowly at first, with the #33 car even being spun around and falling back a few spots.

Just before the pit-stops Kay was running in P9 with the #33 car and André in P11 with the #66 car. For the #33 car Alexander took over and for the #66 car it was Angelo.

Alex could make up quite a few spots during the pit-cycle and was running in P6 from then onwards. Angelo though was stuck in heavy traffic which should cost him dearly a few laps later when he was pushed into an unforced error.

Alex in P6 was catching P5 quickly and managed to place an overtake just minutes before the end.
That meant that the #66 car with Angelo and André finished in P12 and the #33 car with Alex and Kay in P5.

Race was won by Coanda Simsport, followed by CoRe SimRacing and ineX Racing Team.

Next race will be held at Silverstone in just 6 days!

BPGT #1 Monza race report

Probably the hardest and most unlucky race in our history. We knew it would be a tough race due to all the McLaren MP4's in the field, especially at a track like Monza where the mid pack is very dangerous.

Qualification was as expected, although we were still missing some pace to some other AMG. The start went very well as both cars finished lap 1 without damage. But then the drama started....

The #66 car got turned around in turn one by a PRT car. After that the car was not only in last position, but heavily damaged, too.

Even more heartbreaking was what happened to our #33 AMG. After the good start we entered the AMG train and everything was looking good. But after a few laps our race ended with a disconnect. A lap down we tried to minimise the damage and at least earn a few points. A heartbreaking event for us as our race pace was very promising and good enough for a top 5 finish.

In the end we finished in 34th ( #33) and 35th ( #66) position.

Although the championship hunt was basically over before it even started we are looking forward to a less unlucky Brands Hatch race.

Congrats to our namesakes from CoRe SimRacing for their win and Evolution Racing Team for completing the podium!

Thanks to our sponsors Heusinkveld Engineering and Fi TECH.

The 23y old German is a great addition to our team and will help us to lighten up a new manner of racing!

Patrik: "I'm excited to be part of CORE and I'm really looking forward to work and represent the team in the future. NEO Endurance Season Review

After finishing the first season of the iRacing.com Blancpain GT Series on a very good second place we were looking for a new challenge over the winter. After watching a lot of the NEO races we finally entered the GT grid with our #55 Aston Martin DBRS9 GT1.

The opening round of the season was held on the traditionally very though Sebring International Raceway. Due to minimal preparation time we weren't quite able to get the maximum performance out of our Aston Martin. Despite the lack of speed the race was good and we were able to finish in 2nd to take home some good points for the championship.

The second race was just as tight as the first one. The race held on the modern F1 track CotA was full of nice battles with the Torrent Motorsport Aston Martin and the Coanda Simsport Corvette. In the end we crossed the line in third, still not quite enough pace for the win.

In preparation of the third round at Motegi we tried a different approach to the setup of the car and found the missing speed from Sebring. After a good qualification we started the race from pole position. Our strategy for the race was very different from most of the other teams. The plan was to pull away from the field and not to safe the necessary fuel needed for a five stop race. The car was running well and while the others had some nice battles we're able to extend the gap enough for our final and 6th pit stop. After two third place we finally won our first NEO race.

After our good race at Motegi it was a good timing to visit our home track: Nürburgring. Just like at Motegi our #55 was setting the pace at the front of the field taking the second win in a row.

The penultimate race of the season at Spa-Francorchamps was very though. After leading most of the race, an incident damaged the aerodynamics of the car so much that we weren't able to hold on to the lead. Although it was hard to give away the lead in the last few minutes, we earned some important championship points.

With a good and very fun five races behind us, it was time for the big one: 24h of LeMans. But it wasn’t only the character of a 24h race that made this one so special, in addition the race counted as a double round awarding 40 instead of 20 points for the winner. This made the championship completely open and it was very important to finish the race inside the top five to keep up the championship hopes. The race turned out to be a thriller that couldn’t have been written more exciting. Our car was setup very different from all our competitors as we were the only team to run a relatively high downforce setup. The idea was to take some pressure from the drivers during the long race and to compromise the slower lap times with fewer mistakes and better consistency. It turned out that it was a little to conservative as we also struggled to save enough fuel due to our already way lower top speed. Two hours before the chequered flag the gap between us and the second placed SimRC.de car was only 20 seconds. After 22h of racing this is completely crazy. The race was decided in the last hour as the gap extended to about 35 seconds and our final pit stop was two laps shorter than the one of the SimRC.de Aston Martin.

Crossing the line in first after such a race and winning the championship in the GT class, driven by Kay, Nils, Alex, Moritz and Angelo, is one of our biggest achievements and a great final to a very nice season.

Thanks to our sponsors Heusinkveld Engineering and Fi TECH for the support and special thanks to everyone involved in the NEO Endurance Series. See you next season!

Wohooo, could you imagine a better finish of a endurance series than a win at 24h of Le Mans? No? We neither! SimRC has made it very exciting twentyfour hours long, but in the end we could place ourselves in front of them and win the GT1 NEO Endurance Championship & the 24h of Le Mans.

Congratulations to the Prototype winner Coanda Simsport and GTS Class winner Pure Racing Team!

Thanks to the team and to our sponsors Heusinkveld Engineering and Fi TECH!
