Last weekend was a huge success for the 42 Berlin community, and we couldn’t be prouder of our students who brought home wins at the Hackathon!

The “Data Science Meets Biology” Hackathon hosted by the .berlin offered our students a unique opportunity to dive into the intersection of biology and data science.

Our teams rose to the challenge with some impressive projects:

• One team explored how machine learning models handle uncertainty in protein stability.
• Another team focused on early-stage drug discovery, enhancing phenotypical profiles for groundbreaking research.
• And finally, a third team applied AI and data science to analyze and optimize an innovative manufacturing process.

Last week one of our OG staff members who co-built up the Pedagogy Team and then Career Strategy on our campus left the team to join his next challenge.

Thank you so much for these past 2+ years 🫶 you've helped us bulid a mesmerising place.

Our first student cake competition saw our keen student bakers make everyone on campus very very happy, with a cake for every day of the week! Each baker presented their cake alongside its story and inspiration. 🫶

Wow, what an Incredible session with Max Notter on CV storytelling and how to present yourself most impactfully during an interview. The event was co-hosted beautifully by our head of Marketing, Magda 🎉

As CEO of , Max shared his story with our students and gave insights on how to make the most of interview airtime. 📣

A number of our students were brave enough to try their own CV storytelling out in front of the crowd. 👏

🚀 As many of our students slowly ready themselves for their first interviews for internships and jobs, sessions like this - where we can show up authentically with a drive to improve - are significant in gaining confidence, insights and experience.

A huge thank you to everyone involved. Max will be back on our campus very soon, but in a very different form so keep your eyes peeled. 👀

It has been a big week for the world of our Coalitions 🏆

Here at we have 3 coalitions - Arctos, Fulgens & Melursus - and we have just hosted the grand finale of the coalition games marathon. Each team partook in the ultimate showdown on the 42 battlefield. Arctos was crowned winner - congratulations 👏

Earlier in the week, we had special dinners to celebrate individual coalitions and thank them for all their hard work during the coalition games 🔥

Some of you might hate today, and we get that. We kinda hate it too. But love is great and it comes in many shapes and form. Today, our's comes in the form of a big lovely blossoming plant, a good chunk of time spent on campus and a heart-filled team selfie. 🫶

It's nice to know the community is always here, rain or shine.

Who else is reclaiming today in a way that feels good? 🔥

Our open day filled our campus with new faces and lots of discussion about who we are and what we do. We even delved into what peer2peer learning actually means by letting everyone try it out on the spot. 🫂

Everyone got to meet a new bunch of curious coders, meet the team and students, tour our campus, and even see some student projects up close and personal. 🤩

We will have a new open day announced soon, so keep your eyes peeled as this is the perfect chance to see if you like what we do before you start your application journey. 📣

We had the pleasure this week of welcoming in Johannes Bittel who gave our students a beautiful presentation on Generative AI. 🔥

Johannes manages the innovation programme at DB Systel and also is a lecturer for Technology and Innovation. He brought his experience from both to create this engaging talk for our students to consider the reality of generation AI, the expectations current society holds for it, and the potential it holds in both positve and negative capacities.

Containerisation in software engineering is a lightweight and portable solution for packaging, distributing, and running applications. It involves encapsulating an application along with its dependencies, libraries, and runtime environment in a container.
