Studio Marc Räder
His first major photographic project Scanscape (1994-96) initiated a distinctive choice of techniques texturizing the focus of the image challenging the viewer’s perception of scale and authenticity, drawing a dynamic interaction between the photographer, the spectator and the image in which the meaning is actively constructed. Räder experiments with the extraction of uncanny perceptions of reality while his subject-matter draws from the open space, the interconnections between geography, architecture and human activity adding a nowadays dimension that can be understood as a visual critique of all of the above, resonating in his photographic techniques and above all sociopolitical commentary.
