New Year Greetings to all you beautiful people! How are you doing? Did you have a peaceful Christmas and New Years? I am home now from my epic tour of Germany and Denmark in December, all by train and bus and quite honestly, it was a shock to just stop and sit in one place. I found myself wanting to curl into a ball and not speak to anyone or look at any social media. After 24 days on the road alone after so many years I am still trying to process my experience and will make a separate post about that soon. For now, here is a snippet of my song 'Home' unplugged from my living room in North Yorkshire December. I am sooo glad to be HOME although it's rather chilly. Big hugs from here xx

My stage and location this afternoon in Thisted, Denmark at Whole Food Cafe.

I spent a very nice 2 days in Copenhagen staying in a small garden house on the outskirts and did a 3 hour long introductory Kulning session with the amazing singer Helle Thun including learning history and the traditional Swedish way to call goats, sheep and cows. Thanks to for the recommendation. It was very challenging for me but Helle's enthusiasm, patience and her singing voice went straight to my heart. She was really happy with my progress so I am excited to see where it will take me and I will be learning 1 or 2 songs she introduced me to. More on that later. I really like Denmark so far, hope I can play more shows here in the future and will be working on my Danish family history over the winter 💕

My last show for my Christmas tour will be in this lovely plant based restaurant in Thisted, Denmark, tomorrow from 3pm onwards. Looking forward to ending the tour in this lovely hygge space 💕

Tonight I am performing at this beautiful vegan hotel in Lenzen. I will report back after with some photos. I'm actually nursing a mild cold since last night but doing my best to calm the infection. I hope you're having a calm Friday 😘

Well that's the first 3 shows of my tour over and I am really grateful to everyone who hosted me and supported me. Thank you so much for your generous financial contributions and for making it out to see me despite the bitter cold 💕

I am not going to lie though. These past 5 days since arriving in Germany and traveling to and from my concerts have been some of the hardest I have experienced touring in recent years. Firstly there is my health and limitations which are difficult on a normal day, then there is the lifting/carrying my equipment up into trains, down stairs and up again and playing in extreme cold in Saturday and after I started to feel unwell. The main issue though have been the crazy delays and cancellations of Deutsche Bahn trains which caused me so much stress as I didn't know if I would make it to my shows or sleeping places. I am surprised my body made it through with only one flare so looking forward now to a few days off in the countryside to shake off the concrete dust and stress of cities. I have a few things to rethink for the upcoming shows to make things a little more manageable and hoping Deutsche Bahn will get their act together, but I can hear all you Germans laughing as I say that. Goodbye Darmstadt, off north I go!

PS: on flixtrain now and it's way worse than Deutsche Bahn 😳

In one week I will start my Christmas German/Danish tour in Stuttgart and I can't wait! I am also a bit nervous as this is my first proper tour in four years since being sick but I have many shows booked in amazing places. What a blessing this is. I will be adding more information about each show in the coming days with a facebook event for each. If you have friends in any of these places, I would really appreciate you sharing. Most shows are by donation so affordable for everyone. I will also have some music download cards and handmade CD's for sale at my shows and I have been known to trade them for vegan treats, herbal medicine, massage or other delights so just ask 😘 Five percent of CD sales will also go to different animal shelters in each place.

On my German Christmas tour in December, I am very happy to be performing at this cosy Christmas market in Schlitz which is raising money for an animal welfare organisation called Lebenskühe - Initiative Lebenstiere e. V. It's going to be in a barn (very Christmassy!) and there will be lovely vegan things to eat and wonderful Christmas gifts to be had 🥰

An unseren kleinen Weihnachtsmarkt-Ständen gibt es vieles zu entdecken: Kunst und Schmuck, Karten und Kerzen, Bekleidung und viele schöne Geschenkideen.
Ihr könnt Holzbrettchen mit Wunschmotiven gravieren lassen und Aktierismus_Marburg bedruckt Textilien mit tollen Tier (-rechts)-Motiven. Bringt hierfür gerne eigene T-Shirts, Taschen, etc. mit.

This evening as the cold sets into my bones up here on the edge of the foggy dales, I want to share this beautiful song by one of my favourite singer songwriters Dar Williams. She's been a big influence on my own music and was the first musician who pulled me into the folk world and showed me how cool folk music was in a dorky way! This song is like a warm blanket and I have had it on repeat this evening. Such a beautiful song that creeps up on you. I hope it brings you some comfort in the dark ❤
