His music has been performed across the US from the Kennedy Center in D.C. He formed The Hurd Ensemble a decade ago, an electro-acoustic chamber group made up of some of the Bay Area’s best musicians, dedicated to performing his compositions fo

It's all bleak winter feels here since the sun started setting at fu***ng 4pm. I know it's early but I cannot WAIT for spring. Headphones for sure on this one.
Finally got some footage of me performing with gesture controllers at the Center for New Music in San Francisco. Did up some improvised visuals as well which really fun. Lovely to make music for all my friends in the Bay again. It was my first fully “ambient” set aka all slo jams so I’ll def be posting more of this soon
Excited to share some new electro-acoustic music for the 7K "Ambient Layers Vol. II" compilation. I wrote the bones of this while on pandemic lock down shortly after moving to Germany. When asked to contribute to this record I decided to rework it and add harp, flutes, cellos, and piano.
I'm joined by a slew of incredible artists, many of which I've been listening to for years: KMRU, Loscil, Olec Mün, Jacaszek, Skalpel, Wataru Sato/Gecko, ARIGTO, JoyCut, Cubenx, TOMAT, Jonsjooel, Dienne Bogaerts, Psycho & Plastic, Sundrugs, Inlet Industry, and Earth Begins x Stead x Gommarosa.
Massive thanks to Elyse Weakley for playing the flute/piano parts, Anton Estaniel for cello, and Meredith Clark for harp.

I went deep on this with your favorite Grammy-winning percussion quartet Third Coast Percussion for our album Currents Vol. 1. It's Bandcamp Friday and 100% of any album purchases go to the artists (hurray), so today would be THE day to check it out. Enjoy!

Really proud of this one: I made a music video for the middle movement of “What Stories We Tell” with Third Coast Percussion. It runs through the memories of a person’s life, this movement looking back at youth from teenage years through your 30s ("youth" sure why not) using archival and heavily degraded footage I shot and collected. I had a blast making this one. I'm starting to love making videos and visual art these days. I need to do it more often.
Thanks a million to TCP for the stunning performance, as always. Watch it below and stream the record everywhere.

New record out today with with the Grammy-winning Third Coast Percussion! I’ve got a five-movement electroacoustic piece on this one called “What Stories We Tell,” alongside some stellar composers: Clarice Assad, Alexis C. Lamb, and Rodrigo Bussad. It was an honor to work with TCP and a game-changing experience as a composer. A million thanks to Sean Connors, David Skidmore, Robert Dillon, and Peter Martin for being such grotesquely talented, open-minded dudes.
Purchase Currents Vol. 1 on Bandcamp (link below) or stream anywhere.
Looking for a rising sound.
Tonight the DePaul University School of Music Percussion Ensemble is playing "What Stories We Tell" - my percussion 4tet with electronics - in Chicago. It KILLS me that I'm going to miss yet another performance of this piece in my hometown, but I'm hoping some of you all can check it out. It's got some great music on the bill, including pieces from Philip Glass and David Skidmore (of Third Coast Percussion who happened to have commission my piece last year :)
It's a FREE show both in-person and via live-stream (lucky you!). Just register at the link in the comments.

Today's a good day - the fellas of Third Coast Percussion went above and beyond to film a beautiful studio performance of the piece I wrote them, "What Stories We Tell." A testament to art during the Covid age - this whole thing was written, workshopped, rehearsed, premiered and filmed without ever actually all meeting in person. What?!? But I couldn't be happier with the piece or the experience. Such phenomenal guys to work with - it couldn't have written it without them.
Click below and give it a listen and a like. Hope you enjoy it.
