Tonight joining all these wonderful people at 90mil Berlin. Live AV.
I'm thrilled to share this one ... I met Betty when we were both playing That Elephant Party in Manila through Nusasonic / CTM. Now, she has a spectacular debut LP that ... goes deep. Hard to even describe.
It's today, but 3.3 is an auspicious date, so join us 3.33 pm Berlin time on Sunday for a listening party with Betty chatting live from Taipei (also via the link).

Yeah that captures everybody’s mood
Two years. Today starting at Brandenburger Tor demo, then joining .fedorenko on as we play more experimental music by Ukrainian producers from the Ukraine Resistance Radio open call. 3pm today Berlin time / 4pm UA time. (Stick around then for in the second hour!)
Слава Україні!
The singular is taking over 4-5pm time. Glad to invite her to POST. Tune in live and you can say hi at refugeworldwide.com/chat
If you know Ami, you know you can’t miss this. My name is on there but I think I’m just drinking a wine and listening at that point, though I am good at that. Support the music, support the humans, support a free Palestine, and liberation everywhere. Passing the mic, love from your local Kentucky Arab.
Lithuania: we’re on the air with three hours of nonstop experimental music by Ukrainian producers inside and outside the country as Ukraine Resistance Radio continues. That includes a big selection of new tracks from our open call. Archive will be available worldwide shortly after.
On starting with an interview with . Just mixed this all together yesterday and the sound world is extraordinary. As always music says what words cannot. Standing by the Ukrainian music scene now and forever. With the URR team Andrius .fedorenko
I don’t know what to do, but then you can listen to music to help you feel and think what to do. Each compilation has trusted actions too. Link in bio. Send more. Do support. Happy to amplify more.
Also new and if you’re in berlin live music tonight at (hope to make it late)
Still no love lost between us and the Empire(s). Now that I’ve got your attention - we have another open call for experimental Ukrainian music and sounds, with upcoming shows on 24.02 in Berlin and Vilnius Opus Radio. Also doing new interviews with artists if you want to participate.
Calling all Ukrainian artists inside and outside the country. Link in bio (UA language call, please forward)
With the Rebel Alliance of .fedorenko
Me in 1990 at the family reunion, Johnstown PA. 🇱🇧 and uh yes lol. Thanks to my mom for unearthing this accidentally this week and still you’re likely to be stuck with me showing up in the actual country again soon.
“Drehmoment” I have on repeat in both versions. A mystical hopeful vision, candlelight in the darkness. The single is out now with production by Pari, myself, and / linked in bio or streaming.
Detroit: birthplace of techno, birthplace of Arab Americans who stand for justice (including my mom so thanks for the shirt!) I stand with because she is unapologetic about who she is and what she’s fighting for. That’s what it means to me to be Arab American and what I try to take from both sides of my family. No way I am going to stand for dehumanizing anyone. You are all family.
Wednesday returning to with the ongoing residency of eclectic sonic navigations of POST. This month digging through experimental Palestinian productions and labels exclusively. Mainly I hope some of this mix will be sounds Palestinian friends have not heard … plus some shared musical recollections and familiar notes. And we all miss Odai.
Shout out to other friends on the Wednesday program like and with a reminder to everyone - listen to the humans and not the algorithms. Now more than ever.
I was going to try not to play again but it’s possible I’ll do it anyway because it keeps happening.
2024 mood. Captured by / in the sound world of there
Something special happening on Saturday. Glad to be part of this. Right at Schlesi, a pocket of Beirut and Ramallah and our dreams. But this is in Berlin. Also nice to see my name in Arabic (the maternal Geha and Abu Shaheen would be less surprising but let’s merge KIRN too!)

Listening in today as Bethlehem and Beirut play together in mourning. With in Beirut and Laurence Sammour in Bethlehem via . Having grown up in the Antiochian Orthodox Church among immigrants from Syria and Lebanon it’s impossible not to see what has been lost; the strange feeling of recognizing echoes of my childhood memories of shared culture and the festivities people have lost this year. Thinking of friends in both these cities. It is an incredible privilege that I am able to travel to both places, so I will absolutely use that privilege to stand by you in person soon and fight until there is equality, cousins.
Tune in across platforms including just to name some friends

Joining many other artists in solidarity. # # # (both parts are now out)
In light of the intensified, deaths of innocent people and civilians occurring between Gaza and Israel since October 7th, 2023 we - as multiple labels, artists, and collectives - have cooperated to raise our collective voice in demanding an immediate ceasefire and the release of hostages.
Today, we stand with in demanding a ceasefire in Gaza and a release of all hostages.
We were (wonderfully) overwhelmed by the amount of submissions received for the sampler. Thank you so, so much for your contribution.
In total, we received 147 submissions and thoroughly enjoyed listening to so much wonderful music from over 23 different countries!
Given the amount of submissions we decided to split the compilation release in two parts. Decolonoize collective Berlin took the lead in curating Part 1, which is now out.
This unique collaboration hosted and amplified on L-KW’s bandcamp highlights a selection from Decolonoize primarily ampilifying BIPoC, FLINTA and their allies in calling for a ceasefire and release of hostages.
In the coming days L-KW will release Part 2 on our Bandcamp with additional artist submissions, united in our call for a ceasefire and release of hostages. Please lookout for this.
Additionally, we will be supporting the co-release/amplification of this compilation and it’s message with and more in the coming days as well (we’ll update here).
While artists will appear on multiple labels through out the next week, all funds will go to same source.
We stand for peace and all lives lost and to release hostages.
We are united in our message:
CEASEFIRE NOW.
I am so grateful to have worked on this beautiful project as an editor. Can’t wait to hold the book in my hands too. Check out these deep and unique insights into Armenia and art.
It was an honour to be part of the Super BOOKS4 Expo at the Haus der Kunst in Munich on 3-4 November with our new limited edition printed book 'ground'. And it is even more exciting to share with you the good news that the book is part of the exclusive selection of the International Print Biennale Yerevan art book store until 8 December 2023 at the Charles Aznavour Centre in Yerevan (Address: Verin Antarayin 192).
Short overview to the "Ground": The eponymous site-specific art festival and book seek to be an opportunity for cooperation and networking between creators: multidisciplinary text authors and artists based in Armenia and Germany. Thus, the book is a cross-disciplinary retrospective of the public art projects of the Ground Art Fest in Gyumri 2021. Expanding the conventional boundaries of art documentation, the book assembles a collage of diverse authors, art critics and thinkers, drawing on the discourses of art history, social anthropology and contemporary philosophy through personal experience.
In 2023 we were able to print the first and limited edition of the book with the very precious mission. With this edition we want to raise money by inspiring you to contribute to the realisation of the second edition of ground: meant to be multi exemplar in two parts in both languages: Armenian and English.
Unlimited thanks go to everyone who contributed to the realisation of the book and the festival.
Text authors involved in the ground book:
Aram Pachyan / Karin Grigoryan / Liudmila Kirsanova / Hovhannes Smoyan / Anahit Ghazaryan / Lisa Paland / Syuzanna Ginosyan / Gayane Papikyan / Sona Hovhannisyan / Hanna Eichenhofer / Dimona Stöckle / Hasmik Knyazyan / Julian Momboisse / Ophelia Flassig / Areg Balayan / Vazgen Pahlavuni-Tadevosyan (VAZO) / Armen Ter-Mkrtchyan / Hovhannes Hovhannisyan / Maida Ghazaryan / Lea Limbrunner / Marketa Drozdkova / Vahan Matevosyan / Aleksan Ter-Minasyan / Maria Matinyan
Calling for a ceasefire now is the very least we can do. But it matters to be counted - this is our musical colleagues, our friends, our humanity. The full statement and link to sign are available from and is well worded. Your name means something. Protests around the world - and this weekend also in Tel Aviv, and from many families of hostages - are all calling for ceasefire. And yeah we can’t simply consume people’s music and then fail to recognize their humanity. It’s not a time for anyone to stand on the sidelines.
Registration open now for Köln!
de One of the new additions to this year’s festival is a workshop that takes place on the first day of . With this format we want to create a space for building connections through co-learning and co-creation. We are more than happy that Peter Kirn joined us with his Embodied AI Workshop to realize this idea:
Recentering AI on the body, self, and human art…
AI is evolving at breakneck speed into forms that can be dystopian, accelerating corporate power and state surveillance, and automating away some of what makes us essentially human. Here, we’ll learn how to take some of that power back into our own hands – keeping a critical view of some of this technology while finding ways to employ this science in ways we can own and make expressive.
First, we’ll wind back the clock to understand what a simple neural network actually is, and why it’s poetically connected to thought but distant from intelligence and biology. We’ll play with a basic neural net for making rhythms. Then, we’ll explore some simple ways that non-coders can try training and classification locally, with their own data and retaining privacy, for sound and art. Finally, we’ll embody some of these methods by using machine learning models that allow us to make computer interfaces more embodied, using full-body and hand gestures and the voice. We’ll see how these artistic practices can carry on in the Web in decentralized ways, outside of large central corporate platforms. Participants should leave with some alternative and hopeful ways to work with machine learning – and a better understanding of how to understand uses they see around them.

It’s become an annual Kristallnacht ritual to walk around my Kiez and especially to remember the life stolen from my block. It’s not so long ago.
Let’s do what we can to recognize each other’s grief especially now, and to work to end all practices of human sacrifice, subtle and blunt. Wars have hit so many of you I love right now, let’s keep the light burning until the morning and not erase any more family names in any more languages. Until then from Berlin.
Really excited to head to Oona and turn over the full hour to .rose who we’re lucky to have in town at the moment. Tune in to or come round ! Music and coffee are keeping us strong. 💕
Joining — In recent years, there has been a narrowing of space for cultural events in Germany. It has become increasingly hard for certain voices to be heard, for certain events to take place. Symposia, public talks + academic events have been cancelled. Concerts + performances have been shut down. Theatre pieces have been disallowed. Book prizes have remained ungiven. Invitations to artists, cultural workers + intellectuals have been withdrawn.
Our cultural events are frequently cancelled because their content is ‘too sensitive,’ because ‘it is not the right time’ for us to come together to talk, to debate, to perform, to write, to sing, to exhibit, to protest, to mourn. Our events are cancelled ‘for the sake of our own safety,’ we are often told. All the while, neo-Nazis continue to march the streets of Germany under police protection; and support for the AfD continues to grow. How is it possible that our voices—as cultural workers—are deemed more dangerous to society than those of white supremacists + far right movements?
Silencing voices that are inconvenient or uncomfortable is a feature of authoritarian regimes, as is the stigmatising + side-lining of progressive intellectuals and artists. A healthy democracy must allow for the inclusion and participation of a broad range of voices, including voices that are critical of mainstream narratives.
This protest will be led by a coalition of leftist Jews and/or Israelis who work in the realm of culture. We invite allies of all descriptions to join us in protest. We are tired of being silenced in the country that murdered our ancestors. We refuse to remain silent as peaceful Jewish and Palestinian voices are stigmatised + censored.

Hacklab SUSTENANCE is here. Should you apply? Read the call at and decide. Now marking 10 years of live performance outcomes with CTM.
OPEN CALL—Our yearly Hacklab is once again seeking participants for 2024 to join in a week-long hack-a-thon! This year’s Hacklab takes place within the framework of tekhnē, a collaborative network project exploring the emancipatory potential of technology in music and sound art. By engaging critically and creatively with technology, and by putting the focus on the user rather than the developer, technologies and methodologies can be demystified and lead to more autonomous mindsets towards the tools around us.
