Bodø startet ins Jahr als Kulturhauptstadt - ZDFmediathek Die erste Europäische Kulturhauptstadt nördlich des Polarkreises: Im norwegischen Bodø wurde nun das Programm eröffnet. Ein besonderer Fokus soll auf dem Volk der Samen liegen.

On February 3rd 2024 we are staging the official opening of the European Capital of Culture Bodø2024 Together with a team of local artists phase7 embarks on a fantastic journey under the direction of Sven Sören Beyer.

The floating stage in the water by Hans-Petter Bjørnådal is not only the center of the spiral circular movements of the performance: on its floor we can find the shimmering pattern of an Otolith. Northern Norwegian and Sami artists perform under the lead of choreographer Ada J. Einmo and mark the beginning of the new circle that this special year will create.

sunday night, the last performance of our AI opera chasing waterfalls took place at the marvellous Semperoper Dresden – we enjoyed every step of the production process as well as every single performance and felt honoured to have the piece performed at such a renowned opera house.

chasing waterfalls is definitely not what you might expect to be a traditional opera production and thus, we even more really appreciate the courage, motivation, and dedication we have experienced from all our project and production partners.

we do not only want to thank everyone who worked on this project with us so far but also look forward to preparing for bringing chasing waterfalls to the Hong Kong New Vision Arts Festival on 5 and 6 November.

we were delighted to open the current season at Semperoper with our AI opera 'chasing waterfalls' and about all the exicited faces in the audience when, for the first time, an AI composed, sang and generated text live on an opera stage, making each performance unique!

the opera does not only feature an AI performer but also a fluid scenography with an actual waterfalls on stage, as well as mesmerizing video art in various forms, including the faces of the audience as 3D scans to make them become part of the show.

for those who missed the premiere, there are two more performances at Semperoper in Dresden (08 September and 11 September), before it will be performed at the Hong Kong New Vision Arts Festival in November.
