Tigers are making a comeback after years of decline.

Nepal’s success in reversing the decline of Tigers in the Terai Arc Landscape reminds us that mindful land management pays.

Food for human consumption is a priority. But it does not have to be at the expense of either forests, grasslands or rangelands.

With tried and tested sustainable land management techniques, we can produce even more food with less land.

Under the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), at least 420 million hectares of degraded agricultural land is pledged for restoration by 2030.

Let’s do it! To produce more food with less land, to cool burning landscapes and to save declining species.

🌍🌱 Day 3: Field Trip - Communications Workshop 🚀
Yesterday, we explored Halde Hoheward in Herten, a transformed post-mining landscape park! Guided by Ms. Olivia Karulska, we saw how The Regionalverband Ruhr(RVR) turned this site into a regional tourism attraction. 🌿✨

RVR, based in Essen, coordinates sustainable development and regional cooperation in the Ruhr area of Germany. Their efforts focus on restoring post-mining landscapes and transforming industrial sites into green spaces and cultural hubs.

Halde Hoheward, part of the Emscher Landscape Park, is Europe's largest slag heap. We discovered hiking and cycling trails leading to the “Horizon Observatory,” and explored features like the Haldenpanorama, open-air planetarium, and the “New Horizons” exhibition. 🌠

Our journey ended with a tour of the German Mining Museum in Bochum, guided by Ms. Julia Haske from the Post Mining Centre at the Technical University of Georg Agricola. 🏛️
