Safety First: Avoid critical incidents with smart Power Distribution

A dramatic incident in Malaysia on Tuesday is highlights the life-saving importance of managing power infrastructure safely and efficiently: Nine workers were trapped on a burning LED billboard next to a highway. According to reports, the fire has been caused by a short circuit since the LED wall has not been switched off before maintenance routines.

Fortunately, the workers were rescued safely, some with minor injuries, but all with a big scare. In all likelihood, this incident could have been prevented with a remote shutdown.

With a Power Distribution Unit (PDU) from GUDE, AV infrastructures such as LED billboards and digital signage steles can be operated and maintained more safely. The system can be switched off by a remote command, a programmed schedule or triggered by sensor monitoring.
