🇰🇿Judoka Gusman Kyrgyzbayev claimed medal of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. He defeated Strahinja Bunčić from Serbia in men’s 66kg. This became Kazakhstan’s medal at the Paris Olympics.

The 24th summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization ( ), chaired by , took place today in the capital, Astana.

🔹The summit on July 4 adopted the and approved 25 strategic documents covering energy, security, trade, finance, and information security.
🔹During the summit, SCO member states endorsed the Initiative on World Unity for a Just Peace, Harmony and Development, initially proposed by Kazakhstan. According to the Astana Declaration, member states underscored the SCO’s role in bolstering global peace, security, and stability and shaping a new democratic, equitable international political and economic order, inviting the global community to join the initiative.
🔹The Council of Heads of State – Members of the SCO also adopted the SCO Development Strategy until 2035, outlining collective contributions in light of gaining status. Key resolutions included the cooperation programs to combat terrorism, separatism, and extremism for 2025-2027, the Anti-Drug Strategy for the next five years, and its corresponding Action Program. Strategies for energy cooperation until 2030 and the Economic Development Strategy’s Action Plan until 2030 were also approved. Additionally, resolutions encompassed the Association of Investors, programs for developing cooperation in protected areas and eco-tourism, and mechanisms for financing SCO project activities.
🔹The member states additionally signed statements affirming principles of good neighborliness, trust, and partnership, ensuring the safety of drinking water and sanitation, and promoting effective waste management. They also formalized an agreement on environmental protection cooperation among SCO governments.

With the summit’s conclusion, the People’s Republic of China will assume the SCO chairmanship for the next term, and Qingdao will be appointed the SCO’s tourism and cultural capital for 2024-2025.

🇰🇿President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev summed up the results of Kazakhstan’s chairmanship in at the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Member States:

«Since taking up the baton of chairmanship in the Shanghai Organization last year, Kazakhstan has accomplished a great deal with the active support of all SCO members.

🔹Approximately 150 events at various levels were held, including digital, tourism, energy, and business forums, as well as the SCO Youth Council.
🔹Work within the framework of the SCO Year of Ecology was actively promoted.
🔹The Organization’s treaty collection was enriched with 60 new documents, including the Anti-Drug Strategy, the Plan for the Implementation of the Economic Cooperation Strategy, the Agreement in the field of Environmental Protection, the Strategy for Development of Energy Cooperation, and others.
🔹The circle of international organizations – partners of the SCO has expanded.
🔹The activities of the Special Working Group on Investments have been resumed.
🔹The process of transition to settlements in national currencies has gained positive momentum.
Thanks to all these measures, our trade and economic cooperation is developing very dynamically.
🔹We have paid special attention to strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties. A number of anchor projects have been launched that make the “SCO format” even more attractive.
🔸These include the “Spiritual Relics of the SCO States” project and the first international music festival “SCO Silk Way”.
🔸Additionally, ten tourist territories have been identified for the implementation of joint projects.
🔸The city of Almaty has been designated as the cultural and tourist capital of the SCO.

I can confidently say that Kazakhstan, as the SCO Chair, has fully implemented all the goals and objectives declared at the previous summit».

🤝Goodwill Ambassadors Project Launched at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan

Kazakh Foreign Ministry hosted a ceremony to launch the “Goodwill Ambassadors of Kazakhstan” project, with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs Murat Nurtleu.
Initiated by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the project aims to foster dialogue between cultures and peoples, increase the country’s visibility, and promote its achievements abroad.

Die Delegation besteht aus rund 40 Mitgliedern des Ost-Ausschusses, Vertretern der Industrieverbände, Unternehmen aus den Bereichen Transport, Logistik, Landwirtschaft, Bauwesen, Handel.
Das zweitägige Programm umfasst offizielle Treffen auf Regierungsebene sowie multilaterale und bilaterale Gespräche.

🇰🇿🇩🇪В Казахстан прибыла представительная делегация немецкого бизнеса во главе с председателем правления Восточного комитета германской экономики Катриной Клаас-Мюльхойзер.
В ее состав вошли около 40 человек из числа входящих в ВКГЭ отраслевых ассоциаций, крупных и средних компаний из таких сфер, как обрабатывающая промышленность, транспорт и логистика, сельское хозяйство, строительство, торговля и др.
В рамках двухдневной программы предусмотрены официальные встречи на правительственном уровне, многосторонние и двусторонние деловые переговоры.
