Our expansion into new markets, the launch of innovative products, and the establishment of a new organizational structure are just some of the milestones achieved over the past five years.

Most importantly, Reiner has revitalized the legendary Hellmann spirit. Through our new corporate culture - the Hellmann Promise - he has harnessed the power of the Hellmann FAMILY around the globe, handing over a very solid company and a great team to Jens Drewes, who will lead us forward from 1 June.

Despite ongoing market challenges, we have successfully maintained a stable order volume of 20 million shipments, enabling us to further solidify our market position, particularly in the Air- and Seafreight sectors. Additionally, our Contract Logistics division saw significant international expansion with new clients and warehouse locations, including in the USA, Germany, India, and Singapore.

Despite a decline in total sales to EUR 3.5 billion (compared to EUR 5.0 billion in 2022), we have achieved a solid result surpassing pre-pandemic levels. The anticipated revenue decline can be attributed to the normalization of excessively high freight rates during the pandemic.

Furthermore, in 2023, we successfully implemented additional strategic measures for sustainable international growth. Alongside continuing our extensive investment program in IT infrastructure and digitalization initiatives, we expanded our global presence. This included establishing a new subsidiary in and strategic acquisitions in , , and the , marking significant milestones in our global growth strategy.

Amidst these achievements, our commitment to sustainability and responsibility to our employees and customers remain unwavering.

📢 We are proud to announce that Patrick Löwenthal will take over the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) CEP Europe on April 1, 2024.

He succeeds Wilfried Hesselmann, who has successfully led the courier and express business since 2016 and is now taking his well-deserved retirement after 50 years with Hellmann.

Wilfried has driven expansion in the Eastern European market, including the recent acquisitions of Innight in Hungary and Romania, and Optimnet in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. In his role as Managing Director of Night Star Express Hellmann Honold, he has also been instrumental in strengthening the network reach and performance of the joint venture, in particular through the successful acquisitions of Eiltrans and Gertner Express. 🤩

By exchanging data via the shipzero platform, we collect precise Scope 3 emissions data per customer, shipment, and route section. This data will be integrated into our corporate carbon footprint, audits, and sustainability reports, aiding compliance with new regulations coming in 2024.

Our focus on sustainability and transparency in supply chains drives this partnership. Hellmann is at the forefront, using shipzero's innovative technology to optimize supply chains and reduce CO2 emissions in road transport.
