Glad to get some last of lasts plums. Baked a winter plum cinnamon cake - a combination of plums sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar to enhance the flavour. Baked the cake with spices like cardamom and nutmeg, and a dash of rum (Indian Old Monk rum). The air is filled with the smell of sweet spices and plums. Baked it for us as well as friends, neighbours and we all enjoyed it together.
Can be topped with Eier Likör 😋 😊😅. What a weekend 😇

My weekend started early - surprised with waffles by my dear husband 💕

Self made waffles accompanied with fresh fruits, plums, lemon curd, orange ginger marmalade, coconut flakes, caramel sauce, and honey 🍯. And of course with freshly brewed coffee ☕️. And the sun is shining ☀️

Diwali is all about light, happiness, sharing, positivity, prosperity and all good things.

Made these healthy nuts and dates ladoos specially for Diwali.

Dry roast nuts like almonds, cashew, pistachio. Add grated coconut along with sun flower seeds and pumpkin seeds. Let it cool and grind them. Separately grind dates. Mix the grind nuts and dates and enjoy the sugar free ladoos.

When in Delhi, have to visit a few favourite places and have to meet some favourites. Had a blast last night with good Company, good food 🥘 and good drinks 🥤

And we had a street food festival at home on the weekend 😄

Gol gappaaaaas or Pani puri or puchkas along with some tangy Aloo chaat and spicy samosas with khatte wale channas.

Created this street food spread for our dear niece (German and loves Indian food) and neighbours (also Germans and love to try Indian food).

Gol gappas were served with tamarind chutney along with Meeta (sweet) water and Theekha (spicy) water. Aloo chaat and Samosas were served with khatte wale channe (a recipe from my mom).

And it was an absolute delight for all 🤗💕

While in Berlin - how can one not visit and enjoy their Arabian platter. This was again after a gap of more than 2 years. Our last trip included a visit (rather a special celebration) in March 2020 to Al Hamra and this time it was an absolute must.
Enjoyed a visit to Al Hamra with a friend and a game of backgammon 🤗. Perfect end of the day in Berlin before driving back to Hamburg.

A riot of flavours on your tongue of chili, sweetness of Jagury, sharpness of vinegar, flavours of ginger, garlic and the beautiful pickle spices, ohhhh just drooling 🤤. Ready to eat and lasts long because of the oil and spices. Well I don’t think mine is going to last that long 😜. And mine tastes like a Bomb (happy not to share it with my husband 😜)
