Das Wasserschloss in der Speicherstadt ist und bleibt einer DER Fotospots in Hamburg. Das beste Licht habt ihr m. M. n. dort am Abend, kurz vor dem Sonnenuntergang. 🌅 Einen entspannten Sonntag gewünscht! ✌

The Wasserschloss in the Speicherstadt is one of the best photo spots in Hamburg. In my opinion, you have the best light there in the evening, just before sunset. Wishing you a relaxing Sunday! 😊

// Petite Venise

Ein Teil der historischen Altstadt Colmars, unweit der deutsch-französischen Grenze, wird auch Petite Venise genannt. Hier schlängeln sich viele kleine Kanäle vorbei an bunten Fachwerkhäuschen und zahlreichen Cafés, Bars und Restaurants, aus denen der Duft französischer Köstlichkeiten aufsteigt. Wer war auch schon da? 😊

A part of the historic old town of Colmar, not far from the German-French border, is also called Petite Venise. 😍 Many small canals run past colourful half-timbered houses from previous centuries and a lot of cafés, bars and restaurants. Who has already been there?

So viel schöner als eine graue Betonwand! Warum gestaltet man in Großstädten nicht viel mehr Gebäude mit bunter Street Art wie dieser hier? 😍 Daumen hoch, wenn euch der Elefant auch gut gefällt!

So much better than a grey concrete wall! 😂 Why don't they design many more buildings in big cities with colourful street art like this one?? Thumbs up if you like the elephant as much as I do! 😋

Noch immer herrscht Krieg. Noch immer werden Häuser, Dörfer und ganze Städte zerstört. Noch immer haben Menschen Angst und müssen fliehen. Und doch haben viele Ukrainerinnen und Ukrainer ihre Hoffnung noch längst nicht aufgegeben. Frieden für die Ukraine! ✌

There is still a war going on. Houses, villages and entire cities are still being destroyed. People are still afraid and have to flee. But many Ukrainians have by no means given up hope. Peace for Ukraine!

 

// Hello Strasbourg

In dieser Woche konnte ich dem wunderschönen Straßburg einen Besuch abstatten. Der historische Stadtkern ist komplett von Wasser umgeben und es gab so viele tolle Motive! 😍 Diese netten Fachbauten stehen mitten im La Petit France, einem der bekannten Touristenmagneten Straßburgs. Sicherlich erkennt sie der ein oder andere von einem Stadtbesuch wieder?

This week I was able to visit beautiful Strasbourg. The historic city centre is completely surrounded by water and there were so many great motives! These nice half-timbered buildings are in the middle of La Petit France, one of Strasbourg's popular tourist places. I'm sure some of you will recognise them from a visit to the city? 😋

Der Hauptsitz der Industrie- und Handelskammer ist - finde ich - eines der markantesten und schönsten Bauwerke der Stadt Lüneburg. 🙂 Lange Zeit wurde es als Brauhaus genutzt. 🍺 Derartige Giebelhäuser sind in Lüneburg an jeder Ecke zu finden und prägen das Stadtbild der Innen- bzw. Altstadt ungemein.
Was meint ihr wann dieses Gebäude errichtet wurde? Wer die genaue Jahreszahl kennt bekommt einen Shoutout! 🙌

The headquarters of the Industrie- und Handelskammer is in my opinion one of the most striking and beautiful buildings in Lüneburg. For a long time it was used as a brewery. 😋 Gabled houses like this can be found at many places in the city.
When do you think this building was erected? Whoever knows the exact year gets a shoutout in my story! ✌

Schon gewusst, dass der Berliner Fernsehturm das höchste Bauwerk Deutschlands ist? ⏫ Auf welche Höhe kommt die Spitze des Turmes wohl? Irgendeine Idee? 😊

// Well-known Sight

Das Brandenburger Tor ist die wohl bekannteste Sehenswürdigkeit in Deutschland und wird täglich von tausenden Touristen besucht! Gebaut wurde es zwischen 1789 und 1793 und wird mit vielen geschichtlichen Ereignissen in Verbindung gebracht. Das Tor gilt als Symbol für die Deutsche Einheit und Demokratie. 👍 Auch zu finden ist das Brandenburger Tor auf deutschen Euromünzen. 💸 Kommt gut in den Abend! 🙂

The Brandenburg Gate is probably the most famous landmark in Germany and is visited by thousands of tourists every day! 🚩 It was built between 1789 and 1793 and is associated with many historical events. It is considered as symbol of German unity and democracy and can be found on German € coins. Have a great evening everyone! ✌

Nein, wir befinden uns nicht auf der Kirmes. 😁 Im Happy Rizzi House in Braunschweig befinden sich die Büroräume eines großen Modekonzerns. Entworfen hat das bunte Gebäude der amerikanische Künstler James Rizzi. Kommt gut in die neue Woche! ✌

No, we are not at the funfair! 😉 The Happy Rizzi House in Braunschweig is the office of a large fashion company. 👗 The colourful building was designed by the American artist James Rizzi. Have a good start to the new week! 🙂

Ein weiterer Schnappschuss aus Berlin. Das Bode-Museum war ein eingeplanter Stopp auf der Route durch die Stadt. Es ist Teil der Museumsinsel und zählt damit zum UNESCO Weltkulturerbe. Kommt gut in den Abend! 😊

Am Wochenende war ich in Berlin und konnte ein paar Hot Spots der Stadt mit meiner neuen Kamera abklappern. Das Wetter war einfach erste Sahne! 🙌 Dieses Bild ist nun ein erstes Resultat dieses kleinen Fototrips - ich finde der Sonnenstern an der Oberbaumbrücke ist ganz gut gelungen, oder? 😊

Schnappschuss aus meinem diesjährigen Sommerurlaub... 🙂 Drei Wochen ging es mit dem Bulli quer durch Schweden. 🚌 Kurz vor Stockholm lag auch das Schloss Gripsholm auf der Route. Wer war auch schon mal dort?

Snapshot from my summer holiday this year. I spent three weeks travelling across Sweden in my van and Gripsholm Castle was also on the route. 😊 Who knows thw castle ans has been there?

Als am Mittwochmorgen die Nebelschwaden über die Elbe zogen, war ich eigentlich schon auf dem Weg an den Hafen, als ich den Michel im Licht der Morgensonne erblickte... 😱 Letztendlich wurde aus dem Hafen dann doch das Parkhaus am Rödingsmarkt und enstanden ist dieses schöne Foto von einer der imposantesten Kirchen Hamburgs. 🙌 Kommt gut in den Abend!

When the fog rolled over the Elbe on Wednesday morning, I was actually already on my way to the harbour when I saw the Michel in the light of the morning sun... In the end, the harbour turned into the car park at Rödingsmarkt and this beautiful shot of one of Hamburg's most impressive churches was born. 😆 Have a good evening!

// T.R.U.D.E.

Mit dieser Tunnelbohrmaschine wurde von 1997 bis 2000 die vierte Röhre des neuen Hamburger Elbtunnels gebohrt, den täglich über 100.000 Fahrzeuge passieren. Heute kann die T.R.U.D.E. bei dem Museum der Arbeit in Hamburg-Barmbek bewundert werden. T.R.U.D.E. steht übrigens für Tief Runter Unter Die Elbe. Vielleicht eine Idee für einen spontanen Besuch heute? 😉

This tunnel boring machine was used from 1997 to 2000 to bore the fourth tube of the new Elbtunnel in Hamburg which more than 100.000 vehicles pass every day. 🚌 Today, the T.R.U.D.E. can be visited near the Museum der Arbeit in Hamburg-Barmbek. By the way, T.R.U.D.E. stands for Tief Runter Unter Die Elbe. Maybe an idea for a spontaneous visit today?

Die Stabkirche im Harzer Hahnenklee wurde erst 1907-1908 nach norwegischem Vorbild erbaut und besteht größtenteils aus Holz. Heute ist sie vor allem auch eine beliebte Location für Hochzeitspaare. 💒 Wer würde dort auch “Ja“ sagen? 😉

The stave church in Hahnenklee in the Harz mountains was built in 1907-1908 and is mostly made of wood. Today it's a popular location for wedding couples. Who would say "Yes" there? 😊

// Election Day

Heute hat Deutschland einen neuen Bundestag gewählt. ❌ Erste Prognosen zeigen, dass es eine sehr enge Entscheidung wird und eine Partei alleine nicht regieren kann. Was mich etwas erschreckt ist, dass gewisse Parteien beinahe so viele Wahlstimmen bekommen haben wie beispielsweise die Grünen - in einer Zeit, in der Klimaschutz eigentlich wichtiger sein sollte als weltfremde Themen, die unangebracht sind und keinen interessieren... 😔
Ich habe den heutigen Tag in Braunschweig verbracht und schon vorab per Briefwahl abgestimmt. Wer von euch war schon mal dort? 😊

Today Germany elected a new Bundestag. Initial forecasts show that it will be a very close decision and that one single party cannot govern... What scares me a bit is that certain parties got almost as many electoral votes as, for example, the “Grünen“ - at a time when climate protection should actually be more important than unworldly issues that are inappropriate and of no interest to anyone! 😉
However, I spent thus day in Braunschweig and voted in advance by postal ballot. 🌞 Who of you have already been there?
