Creating emotional experiences that are being remembered - that is what we want for our customers. In our centers, the combination of light and design, among other things, contributes to this. A good example is the festive lighting at the G3 Shopping Resort Gerasdorf in Austria.

Inside the center, hearts, warm-white fairy lights and festive motifs such as illuminated Christmas baubles create a special emotional atmosphere. Among this year's highlights: "Ulf the Reindeer", a 7-meter high light sculpture with a glowing red heart, and an eye-catching 14-meter high Christmas tree, also with glowing hearts and the G3 trademark inside. 🦌🎄

ECE has secured the management and the leasing of four shopping centers with a strong market position and an attractive tenant mix: Kaufpark Eiche, Havelpark Dallgow, KaufPark Dresden-Nickern, and Brandenburger Einkaufszentrum Wust. The long-term management contracts were tendered by the co-investor and asset manager redos. ECE prevailed over renowned competitors with a tailored proposal. 💪🏼 🏬

Another center for the ECE Fund II portfolio: The ECE European Prime Shopping Center Fund II has acquired the Erlangen Arcaden shopping center. ECE has operated the Erlangen Arcaden shopping center since July 2019 on behalf of the previous owner and will continue to be responsible for management and leasing of the center in the future as well. As a result, the portfolio of the second ECE fund now comprises ten shopping centers in Germany, Poland, Hungary and Italy with a market value of 1.5 billion euros.

Erlangen Arcaden, which opened in 2007, has around 90 stores with a total sales area of around 30,000 m² and is located directly next to the train station and the pedestrian zone in downtown Erlangen, a city with a strong economy and 110,000 residents located in the German state of Bavaria. In its catchment area, which has about 400,000 inhabitants, the center has a strong market position and is visited by around 10 million people each year.

Last Thursday, numerous colleagues could get in the mood for the holidays at the ECE Christmas party. The event traditionally takes place in the Volksbank Arena, developed by ECE back in 2008. Every year a different department is in charge of transforming the place into a festively decorated party location. After a review of the year by CEO Alexander Otto, the ECE choir under the direction of Jonathan Doughty rang in the cosy part of the evening.

Discover something new every two months - this is what the pop-up concept "it's all about stories" at Limbecker Platz Essen. In line with the cosy and contemplative Christmas and winter season, December and January are entirely dedicated to "it's all about family affairs". because in the most hyggeliest of all seasons it becomes clear what quality time really means: time with your loved ones. The store holds the contemplative stories for this, including Søstrene Grene, Vorwerk, Picnic, Food Explorer and Stella Bellucci.

New burger concept in the promenades of Leipzig Central Station. This is where the Irish Better Burger chain Rocket's opens its second location in Germany today. The Fast-Casual-Burger concept convinces with highest quality, because the meat for the premium burgers comes from Ireland: 100% finest, hand-pressed beef. All dishes are freshly prepared in the open show kitchen. Guests can expect a restaurant in an urban industrial design with retro lighting elements and many extras for the new opening in the new exclusive gastronomic highlight of the promenades.

Welcome@ECE für die neuen Technical Manager: Vergangene Woche haben unsere Technical Manager aus den Shopping-Centern ihr spezielles Weiterbildungsprogramm bei der ECE abgeschlossen. Über drei Monate lernten unsere Kolleg*innen dabei über Themen wie Facility Management ⚙️, Nachhaltigkeit 🌱 und Leadership 👨🏼‍💼. Mit dem Kolleg werden die Technical Manager im Rahmen ihrer Ausbildung Schritt für Schritt an die Arbeitsabläufe in den Centern herangeführt, für die sie die technische Verantwortung übernehmen werden.

Successful "Black Price Day" at ECE: The number of visitors to the ECE centers in Germany increased significantly on the Black Price Day weekend. The footfall on the two days was 54 percent higher than the average footfall on a regular Friday/Saturday. Compared to an average sales day (Mon-Sat), the footfall was even 80 percent higher. And compared to last year's Black Price Day, the visitor numbers could be increased once again - by 16 percent. This made the campaign a complete success. A total of around 100 ECE centers took part in the Black Price Day campaigns this year, in which the retailers' offers were advertised with numerous events, promotions and marketing measures - and thus contributed to increased footfall and sales at the centers. 📈🛍

Besucherrekord bei den "Black Price Days": Die Besucherfrequenzen in den ECE-Centern in Deutschland konnten am Black-Price-Day-Wochenende vor genau einer Woche deutlich gesteigert werden. So lagen die Frequenzen an den beiden Tagen um 54 Prozent über der Durchschnittsfrequenz an einem normalen Freitag oder Samstag. Im Vergleich zu einem durchschnittlichen Verkaufstag (Mo-Sa) lag die Frequenz sogar um 80 Prozent höher. Auch im Vergleich zum Vorjahres-Black-Price-Day konnten die Frequenzen noch einmal gesteigert werden – und zwar um 16 Prozent.
Damit war die Aktion ein voller Erfolg. 📈🛍

Ho ho ho it's christmas time: Last week around 20 little master bakers from a nearby kindergarten transformed the shopping street of Hamburger Meile into a real little Christmas bakery and had a lot of fun. In our other centres, too, special events await visitors during the pre-Christmas period. Stop by and have a look!

Happy tenants of the MesseCity Cologne project: The new Zurich Gruppe Deutschland headquarters has been in operation for a good month now. Around 2700 employees will be working for the insurance company here in the future. The ECE development team for MesseCity Cologne, Steffen Wittwer (Project Director) and Christoph Barthel (Overall Project Manager), is also proud of this milestone when they visited the Zurich Campus last week.

The project is part of MesseCity Cologne, the development of which comprises six office and hotel properties including catering, service and retail space with a total floor area of 135,000 sqm. The second construction phase with two further buildings in the eastern part of MesseCity Cologne is currently being marketed.

It was the last piece in the puzzle: The ASTOR Film Lounge MyZeil completes the newly created gastronomy and entertainment floor FOODTOPIA at MyZeil Frankfurt. Already two weeks after the opening, Managing Director Hans-Joachim Flebbe took stock:

"The ASTOR Film Lounge in the MyZeil is already proving to be a complete success: "The architecture has been very well received by our guests and with over 3,000 visitors in each of the first two weeks after the opening, we have achieved twice as many visitors as would have been expected in the industry. KFC is on course for expansion: The 200th restaurant of the well-known fast food chain has now opened at Rosengårdcentret in Odense, Denmark. 🍗 🇩🇰 In the modernised Food Avenue of the centre, 58 seats are available to guests on around 170 square metres. The KFC branch is now the 36th branch in an ECE centre. With over 40 new openings in Germany, Denmark, Austria and Switzerland in the last two years, KFC is growing faster than ever before. "The many openings in ECE's shopping centers have contributed significantly to this growth," 📈 says Marco Schepers, General Manager KFC Germany, Austria, Denmark, Switzerland.
