The INTF studies the textual history of the New Testament and works to reconstruct its initial Greek text based on the entire manuscript tradition, the early translations, and patristic citations.
The work of cataloging the riches of the world’s Greek New Testament evidence is far from finished. Within the last 6 years, 273 new manuscript discoveries have been added to the Kurzgefasste Liste:
We are grateful for those around the globe who have partnered with us in this vital endeavor, helping to make each of these precious manuscripts known to the world.

The directors of the INTF, Kurt Aland, Barbara Aland and Holger Strutwolf, presented the ECM to the respective popes: John Paul II and Benedict XVI. You can find out more about the history of the INTF today in the open tour of the Bibelmuseum Münster
Kurt and Barbara Aland visited St. Catherine’s Monastery in Sinai in the 1980s.
Our director Holger Strutwolf attended a workshop on 2 July 2024 at the Institute for Distance Learning (IDL) Amonoo-Neizer Conference Centre at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi, Ghana, to discuss aspects surrounding histories, legacies and dissemination of mother-tongue Bibles. Holger Strutwolf gave a lecture on the textual histories of the original Greek sources of the New Testament (29:24).

The newest papyrus in the Liste: P141. Although added a couple of years ago, these 3rd century Greek NT fragments of Luke have received surprisingly little attention.
P. Oxy. 5478 is housed at the Bodleian Art, Archaeology and Ancient World Library (which was called Sackler Library until last year).
Only three other fragments of Luke from Oxyrhynchus have been published: P69, P111, and P138, all assigned to the 3rd century.
With Luke 2,32-34.40-42; 24,22-28.30-38, P 141 has the most extensive text of any of these!

Strawn and Dr. Drew Longacre at Duke University/Divinity School, moves beyond existing scholarly editions by collating and evaluating the best readings of the text of the Hebrew Bible from all available sources. The edition has a critical apparatus and full textual commentary. Check it out for yourself!

In recent years there has been some uncertainty about whether GA 2752 and GA 2753 at Gordon College in Wenham, MA might have been sold. We’re happy to report that these manuscripts are still there and that more leaves have been discovered!
An additional 8 leaves with the Gospel of Luke have now added to GA 2753 in the Liste.
