Happy International Mountain Day! This is a day of awareness for the role mountains play in hosting biodiverse hotspots and providing clean freshwater for as much as half of the human population.

The exciting return of a BAUER compressor after an important mission!

BAUER breathing air compressor returned safely after 2 years of hard use on the high seas.

Rolandas Schön, from the non-profit organization “Baltic Sea Nature & Heritage Protection Association,” opens the tailgate of his station wagon. Together we lift the BAUER PE-TE 250 diving sports compressor out of the hold. Two years of hard work on board the expedition ship have left almost no trace- a testament to BAUER quality!

When asked what could be optimized about the system, Rolandas said “Nothing, perfect system, gave us the breathing air we needed with the reliability of Swiss clockwork.”

Without it, the team would not have been able to carry out any of the demanding cold-water dives to painstakingly remove so-called “ghost nets” from culturally valuable wrecks in the Baltic Sea. These nets, lost from fishing boats, had sometimes completely enveloped the wrecks and, saturated with pollutants, became a death trap for countless sea creatures.

The complete plan for next year is already in place. Rebreathers, whose smaller bottles require smaller volumes of breathing air, are now the preferred equipment for diving. For 2024, they will use a super-compact and easy-to-transport JUNIOR II from BAUER KOMPRESSOREN.
