🚨While we prepare for the biggest and most fun day of our football year, our friends over in Fort Nysa/Futbol Australijski w Polsce - AFL Poland are facing horrific floods and need some help.

The south of Poland is currently experiencing some of the most damaging floods in history. Hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced, and livelihoods have been lost. Businesses have been impacted, and historical landmarks have been damaged, making the road to recovery longer and harder.

Nysa is a city that's been at the centre of this disaster, and it's a city that also has an Australian Football team. These floods have affected many of those players, their families, workplaces and businesses. Głuchołazy is a neighbouring town that's home to many other players and a town that's been ravaged by these floods.

Hats off to this team that overcame heartbreak after last year’s Grand Final loss and came together to produce the best season for our FLINTA squad on record.

🏳️‍🌈 Pride Round #1 is now in the books! 🏳️‍⚧️

We were absolutely honoured and thrilled to host the first AFL Germany Pride Round on Saturday. 🐊

The first game that kicked off the inaugural Pride Round was between our FLINTA Crocs and the Rheinland Lions. It was neck and neck the entire contest but the Crocs managed to get over the line by 1 point to retain their undefeated title this season. An incredible effort, playing 12 a-side for the first time this season on a large field, well done Croccies! 💛

Next up our Men’s team took on . The Lions were in some hot form coming into this match but the Crocs put a very strong team on the field and were able to see out a confident victory! Thank you Rheinland for making the trip across the country to make the first Pride Round so special!

The Men’s team day wasn’t finished just yet, having to face Heidelberg Knights straight after the first game. The Knights took advantage of this and were able to kick the first few goals of the game. But with some changes at half time, the Crocs managed to secure a second W for the day. Thanks to the Heidelberg lads for making the trip up to rainy Berlin 💚

What does Pride Round mean to you?

We asked a few Crocs this question ahead of the inaugural AFL Germany Pride Round this Saturday at Sportanlage Jungfernheide. 🐊

👉 With Pride Round happening this weekend for the first time in AFL Germany history, we thought we would take this opportunity to share some knowledge behind the term FLINTA* and why we as a club have decided to refer to our women’s team using this term.

🐊 As a club, we’re not perfect, but we’re trying to continually improve our efforts in regards to inclusivity.

‼️ Our aim is to share this knowledge not only in the hope for the correct language to be used when referring to our team, but also hopefully to encourage other clubs to start an inclusivity conversation in their own communities.

🏳️‍🌈 Pride Round takes place this Saturday at Sportanlage Jungfernheide, with 3 big games between the Crocs, Heidelberg Knights and Rheinland Lions. Day starts at 12PM! 🏉🐊

🎉 Our very own Berlin League is back this Saturday for the last round before finals!

📍We’re returning to Hatzi for the first time in a hot minute!

2️⃣ BIG games: Giants vs Crows in the battle for top spot, followed by Eagles vs Mariners trying to keep their finals hopes alive!

This time last week! 🐊💛

Our FLINTA team headed to Hamburg for a friendly against Hamburg Dockers Australian Football Club! A strong start from the FLINTA Crocs saw them go into the 1/2 break with their noses in front! In the end the Crocs depth and skill, especially that of Nadia and Maeve, was too much for the hosts and our FLINTA were able to finish off strong 💪🌈

Meanwhile the Men’s squad headed a little further North up to Kiel. The Crocs took awhile to wake up after the long train ride as we saw Kiel Koalas - Australian Football Club kick the first goals in the opening game. Despite a good start from the Koalas, the Crocs managed to claw their way back thanks to some standout performances from Sam across centre half back and young Fred down forward. After a brief, but wet ⛈️ storm delay ⛈️ play resumed and the Crocs finished the job! 👍

The last game of the day for the Crocs was against the mighty Rheinland Lions who we met last in the Semi Final last season. With the weather having cleared up, the Crocs flexed their skills but at times the game looked a lot closer than it actually was due to the Lions’ pressure. A stellar performance from Westy and Coach Jack saw the Crocs glide to 2/2 W’s for the day. 🐊💚

Yesterday marked a very special anniversary for our football club! 💛💚

The FLINTA team celebrated 5 years since their inaugural AFL Germany game down in Stuttgart. It’s been one hell of a journey over the last 5 seasons, and who better else to talk of that journey than Theresa Kresse who has been there since day 1… 🐊

“Yesterday marked the 5th anniversary of the Berlin Crocs FLINTA team.

Alongside Mac and Elly, I’ve seen the team grow and develop over the years, change and shift with the people who joined and left their individual mark.

It has taken a lot of commitment from the people who initially had the idea to make this a reality and over the years it took an equal amount of commitment from coaches, managers, players and supporters to make it such a success, on and off the field!

I am incredibly proud of the past achievements of this team and excited to see what’s in for us this and the upcoming seasons!

🇫🇷 2024 Champions League in Lyon!

The Men’s squad had the honour of representing AFL Germany in the AFL Europe Champions League a couple of weeks ago. Although a few results did not go our way, it was still a great opportunity to test Crocs footy against the very best in Europe. Thank you ALFA Lions for hosting such a great day! ☀️

Thank you also to Leeside Lions AFL, Farum Cats, Årsta Swans - AFL Stockholm & The Wandsworth Demons for being great competition and congratulations to the latter for taking home the trophy. 🏆

(is that still a thing?) to last Saturday’s Berlin League! 🏉

📈 We had our yearly draft which saw 12 new players find their Berlin League homes plus special shout out to the 3 lads who came to join us from the West London Wildcats 🐈, good luck with your upcoming season 🤝.

Included in this was a record number of FLINTA players as 9 of the 12 came from our FLINTA squad 💪. This is exciting as the FLINTA team looks to go one step further this season in the AFLG 🏆

🏉 It was a glorious day at Schillerpark and after filling some holes and picking up some bottle caps Round 1 of the 2024 Berlin League season was underway! 🪣

The reigning Premiers in the Giants had a BIG target on their back and boy oh boy were the Mariners ready to shoot 🎯 From the first bounce the mighty ⚓️ had a stranglehold on the game and strode to a comfortable 30 point W despite the best efforts of the 🍊.

Game 2 saw the battle of the birds! The Eagles and the Crows set out to show that they are both no easy beats in 2024! 🤝Despite the rough & tough 🦅 sticking with them the whole game, the 🐦‍⬛ spread their wings and proved just too clinical, securing an important 11 point W.

The Mariners top the table after RD 1, with the Crows only behind on %. The Eagles and Giants have some ground to make up if they want to make it to to the big dance this year 💃🕺
