Having premiered in Paris in 2020, the exhibition “Gabrielle Chanel. Fashion Manifesto” is now open at the Power Station of Art, in Shanghai. From the very first piece she created, a sailor-inspired blouse, to the well-known little black dress, the 2.55 handbag and the emblematic tweed suit, the exhibition draws between the lines the portrait of a pioneering couturière who changed fashion and the allure of women forever.

The exhibition, which will run from July 12th to November 24th 2024, is presented by the Power Station of Art and co-organized with the Palais Galliera, Fashion Museum of Paris, Paris Musées, and with the exclusive support of CHANEL.

Patrice Leguéreau, Director of the CHANEL Fine Jewelry Creation Studio, celebrates the sports style of CHANEL, anchored in the House’s history since the 1920s, with the new Haute Joaillerie Sport Collection.

Designed to become one with the wearer, the Graphic Line necklace, set with a 10.15-carat sapphire from Kashmir, expresses the contours of an allure according to CHANEL—that of a woman always on the move. The chevron motif and the gradation of 24.35 carats of baguette-cut rubies in pure, simple lines evoke rhythm and speed.

The CHANEL Fall-Winter 2024/25 Haute Couture collection presented by the Fashion Creation Studio revisits the world of the opera through feathers, precious braids, supple tweeds, silky velvet, illusion tulle, taffeta and duchesse satin.

For the show, playwright, writer and director Christophe Honoré imagined a mise en scène in the corridors of the Palais Garnier, offering a renewed way to experience the opera.

CHANEL has chosen to present the Fall-Winter 2024/25 Haute Couture collection at the Palais Garnier, a place of creative freedom very dear to the House. The Haute Couture of CHANEL is a discipline of beauty, patience and excellence, values shared with the Paris national Opera.

A series of photographs by Karim Sadli offers a first glimpse of the collection presented by the Fashion Creation Studio.

The film of the show will be revealed on Tuesday, June 25th at 2pm, Paris time.

The House of CHANEL is proud to renew its support to “Nouvelles Vagues”, the Biarritz Film Festival which is held from 18th to 23rd June, 2024.

The festival aims to tell the story of youth and its vision through films that question its position in society. Thanks to the thirty films in competition and out of competition, actors and directors will be highlighted by a jury of multidisciplinary artists aged 35 years and under, including friends of the House Zoey Deutch, Kim Higelin and Margaret Zhang, as well as an international jury of students from major film schools.

On the occasion of the opening of the festival and to celebrate the close ties between CHANEL and cinema, guests including Zoey Deutch, Margaret Zhang, Kim Higelin, Karla Sofía Gascón, Ana Girardot, Louise Bourgoin, Fotinì Peluso and Silly Boy Blue attended the dinner co-hosted by CHANEL and the festival.
