We are looking for up to three short dance pieces for the next ! evening. Are you a creative choreographer, dance maker or dance artist and want to share your dance moves with others? Then apply now!

Application deadline: 10.09.2024.

-Length of the dance piece: between 10 and 15 minutes.
-We are looking for dance pieces that are performed by a maximum of 4 dancers (preferably no solo).
-No elaborate stage design or complex technical equipment is necessary (each piece will be equipped with 60 minutes of technology).
-The piece should be suitable for our Blackbox STUDIO stage of 7x12 metres.
-We are looking for dance makers from all over Germany and Europe.
-Travel expenses of up to 150 euros per person for travelling to and from Ulm, if necessary.
-Accommodation, if required.
-Performance fee, which is based on the Federal Association of Independent Performing Arts.
-Professional photos of the performance.
-A letter of invitation if this supports your participation.

The 7th ! will take place on 26.10.2024 at ROXY.

Ein großes Danke an alle, die sich auf dieses tolle Experiment eingelassen und mit ihrer Kreativität und Energie das Project 48 Dance zu einer wundervollen Erfahrung gemacht, an all die helfenden Hände, die diese 48 Stunden ermöglicht haben und natürlich an , ohne die wir nichts davon erlebt hätten!

Die zweite Runde des Project 48 Dance neigt sich dem Ende zu und unsere Choreograf:innen und Tänzer:innen nutzen die letzen Stunden vor der Performance für den letzten Feinschliff ihrer neuen Performances 🕺

Unser Team aus Techniker:innen, Sound-Künstler und Organisation-Talenten greifen ihnen dabei tatkräftig unter die Arme, stellen das richtige Licht ein oder besorgen Requisiten und Kostüme.

Wir haben heute Abend fünf unglaubliche Choreografien gesehen - insbesondere weil jeder Tanzschritt, jede Kulisse, jedes Kostüm und jede Idee erst in den letzten 24 Stunden entstanden ist!

In Fotos festgehalten hat den Abend für uns 📸

Unsere Choreograf:innen und Tänzer:innen können sich jedoch nicht auf ihrem Erfolg ausruhen, sondern haben direkt nach ihrer Performance mit der Arbeit für neue Tanzstücke angefangen. In fünf neuen Konstellationen. Wir sind gespannt, was morgen passiert!

We saw five incredible choreographies tonight - especially because every dance step, every set, every costume and every idea was created in the last 24 hours!

The evening was captured for us in photos by 📸

Our choreographers and dancers can't rest on their laurels, however, but started working on new dance pieces straight after their performance. In five new constellations. We are excited to see what happens tomorrow!

Wir sind sehr gespannt, was die Choreograf:innen in der ersten Runde, in nur 24 Stunden, erarbeiten. Einen Satz den wir heute schon oft gehört haben: "Es ist so spannend, wie unterschiedlich alle an die Aufgabe heran gehen!"

Smadar Goshen ist Choreographin, Tänzerin, Tanzpädagogin und Mitglied des Produktionszentrums Stuttgart. Als zertifizierte Gyrotonic und Gyrokinesis Trainerin sowie Gaga Lehrerin setzt sie sich intensiv mit der individuellen Bewegungssprache auseinander, die ein wichtiger Bestandteil ihrer Arbeit mit den Tänzer:innen und ihres kreativen Schaffensprozesses ist.

Gaga ist die Bewegungssprache, die Ohad Naharin über viele Jahre hinweg parallel zu seiner Arbeit als weltbekannter Choreograf entwickelt hat. Gaga-Kurse basieren auf einer tiefgreifenden Aktivierung des Körpers und der Körperwahrnehmung.

Smadar Goshen is a choreographer, dancer, dance teacher and member of the Stuttgart Production Center. As a certified Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis trainer and Gaga teacher, she works intensively with the individual language of movement, which is an important part of her work with dancers and her creative process.

Gaga is the movement language that Ohad Naharin has developed over many years in parallel to his work as a world-renowned choreographer. Gaga classes are based on a profound activation of the body and body awareness.

Außerdem im Juli: Das Format - Made in Ulm feiert Premiere mit 10 Tanzstücken, die von Tanzschaffenden aus Ulm und Umgebung stammen.

The randomly selected choreographers and dancers have just 48 hours in their groups to create stage-ready performances for the dance project "48 Hours Dance". The dance spectacle from Tel Aviv is coming to Germany for the first time and you can be there live!

Today: The and the International Choreography Competition Hannover - one of the most important and oldest dance competitions in the world, which is taking place again this week! 👯

Who?
The International Choreography Competition Hannover is the longest-running choreographic competition in the world and a major event in the international dance scene, organized by the Ballett Gesellschaft Hannover e. V. .

How?
- The Ballett Gesellschaft Hannover e. V. supports ballet and the independent scene both ideally and materially
- ICCH has been held annually since 1986
- Average participation of 400 choreographers from over 60 nations

Why?
Funded structures, such as competitions, are one of the most important
for the independent dance scene, such as competitions. A competition such as the ICCH, which is characterized by its consistency and high-calibre jury, can act as an important support for new faces in dance.

Good to know!
Every year, TanzLabor invites the participants of the competition to perform their work or take on artistic residencies. The partnership between the two organizations plays an important role in supporting the next generation of dance professionals.

"Ein Werk, das ins Herz trifft" - Idit Suslik, The Contemporary Eye

Körperlich, ergreifend und clever - so werden die Tanzstücke von Yossi Berg und Oded Graf beschrieben. Die israelischen Choreografen haben mit ihren besonderen Performances schon überall auf der Welt begeistert. So auch das 2019 uraufgeführte When Love Walked In. Ungewöhnlich nah kommt man den Tänzer:innen dabei, da sie ihr Publikum in 360 Grad um sich versammeln. “A work that hits the heart” - Idit Suslik, The Contemporary Eye

Physical, gripping and clever - this is how the dance pieces by Yossi Berg and Oded Graf are described. The Israeli choreographers have already wowed audiences all over the world with their unique performances. Including When Love Walked In, which premiered in 2019. Who?
TanzSzene Baden-Württemberg was founded in 2009 as an interest group for dance professionals in the southwest.

Why?
The potential of networking transregional actors in dance is enormous. While local commitment often only remains visible on a small scale, the bundling of resources from the independent scene and permanent ensembles has great creative power. Promoting and demanding this potential, making it visible to the public and cultural policy - that is what drives TanzSzene BW.

Der Tradition nach tanzen wir in den Mai, um böse Geister zu vertreiben. Ein kathartisch anmutender Brauch, der auch in unserer Mai-Performance RE. von der Freiburger Choreografin Nadine Gerspacher sichtbar zu werden scheint. Gemeinsam mit Arias Fernández erkundet Gerspacher das komplexe Wirken der Pandemie auf Gesellschaft und Mensch und diese durch eine Art Neuanfang REkonfiguriert.

Wer erfahren will, wie das Stück seinen eigenwilligen Stil zweier nahezu komplementär anmutenden Tanzsprachen gefunden hat, dem können wir den Workshop von Gerspacher und Fernández am 23. Mai ans Herz legen.

According to tradition, we dance into May to drive away evil spirits. A seemingly cathartic practice that also appears in our May performance RE. by Freiburg choreographer Nadine Gerspacher. Together with Arias Fernández, Gerspacher explores the complex effects of the pandemic on society and people and REconfigures them through a kind of new beginning.

If you want to find out how the piece found its idiosyncratic style of two almost complementary dance languages, we can recommend the workshop by Gerspacher and Fernández on May 23.

The first part will consist of exercises to wake up the body and create awareness of the whole physical instrument. Attention will be given to breath, joint articulation, muscle tone and stability to improve physical strength. Guided improvisations and theatrical tasks underline the workshop activities to encourage playfulness and creativity in movement and expression.

The second part focuses on partner work, Krump and theatricality in connection with the piece RE., which will be performed by the choreographers at TanzLabor on May 24th.

Seit 1982 wird jedes Jahr am 29. April der „Internationale Tag des Tanzes" zelebriert. Weltweit ehren Menschen die Kraft des Tanzes und die Schönheit der Bewegung 👯‍♂️

In Ulm wird dieser Tag nun schon zum 14. Mal gefeiert. Vereine, Tanzschulen, Kompanien und freie Tänzer:innen aus Ulm und Umgebung bringen Ihre Leidenschaft auf die Straße und zeigen Ihre Performances.

Dieses Jahr beginnen die Festivitäten zum WelttanzTag aber schon einen Tag vorher. Tänzer:innen und Gruppen werden Ihre Stücke im ROXY präsentieren. Ob zeitgenössischer Tanz, K-Pop, Stepptanz - es wird ein bunter Mix aus vielen verschiedenen Tanzstilen vertreten sein

Since 1982, the "International Day of Dance" has been celebrated every year on April 29. People all over the world honor the power of dance and the beauty of movement 👯‍♂️

In Ulm, this day is now being celebrated for the 14th time. Associations, dance schools, companies and freelance dancers from Ulm and the surrounding area bring their passion to the streets and show their performances.
