“What does “Pretending that you’re still afloat” mean? It might mean different things, but to us, it’s probably about working in restaurants. To us, it sums up restaurant life - the highs and lows, the teamwork. Even when it gets tough.
It’s the feeling of drowning and being saved by a hand from above. That hand isn’t God. There’s no time to believe in him, her, it, or them, when table 2 is still waiting for their starters. That hand from above is your colleagues. They’re the only ones you can believe in, in those moments. It’s about seeing and being seen. It’s about having each other’s backs. Or hands. There’s something divine about that too.”

Wrapping up another beautiful year!

It’s that time of the year again 🎄🫶 Starting this Friday, we’ll be hosting our annual Christmas Lunch!
Every Friday, Saturday & Sunday from November 24th - December 23rd.
Replacing our usual lunch menu, the feast will include traditional Danish Christmas dishes but with that Barr touch to them.

Keeping to the roots, we explore the Northern Sea cuisine, and create dishes honouring the traditions in this region - stretching from Ireland, Scandinavia and the Baltic Sea.

Amongst many incredible producers we work with on a daily basis, and some for years, we have Karsten and Lene behind the distillery Aqua Vitae Sydfyn.
Located in Skårup Fyn, on the island of Fyn, this is where they produce their eau de vie’s from as local a fruit as possible. On our current cocktail menu you’ll find their Plum Eau de Vie in one of our cocktails.
The Barr team did a field trip to the distillery two weeks ago to get to know the couple behind it, to learn more on how to make spirits and to try some snaps.
