More analog snaps, here are 4 random pics from summer past: some carp taking it literally, being the big fish in a little pond, some clever french grafitti in Rennes’ largest public square telling you where to plant your gaze, a french lion by the Concorde, and a rainbow telling us where the gold in Copenhagen is…

The feeling of christmas eve, when those rolls of random snaps come home from —So expect to see some analog love here in the coming posts: here are three for tuesday, all from recent work sessions: Declan modelling for Works & Days, Rum Pistol playing live at Thorvaldsens Museum, and Sting. I love shooting film in between takes, a nice way to decompress while staying sharp. (all shots on Leica M6 with summicron 35)

Overseeing post-production on the recent campaign we made in Wales with & , today, a sneak of some of the footage being put through “the colouring machine”. More to come as we piece together the best scenes from the welsh landscapes. PS, did you spot the vanishing rainbow? (Motion pictures: Leica SL2s, 🌧️🌬️🌄)

Filming porcelain is a delicate job, in more than the obvious aspect. It requires an understanding of light and reflection, as the handmade objects have multiple levels of focus, and focus is perceived best in the highlights, and you want those, just not too many. Here we are contemplating the lighting and the framing.

A great and happy holidays are sincerely wished upon you all. While the snow was a no show here in Copenhagen, here is a sunset pic I snapped in march while on assignment in … see you all fresh in the new year for another ride on the carrousel 🎠 shot on

invited me to bring my cameras to a show today. Unveiled as the surprise performer for a group of 400 unknowing guests at , Sting came and performed a handful of songs, following each with an English tale of his roots, all part of a piece of Musical Theatre he wrote called “The Last Ship”. Thank you Grow and Østre Gasværk for inviting me to shoot with you. A pleasure to finally experience Sting, the raconteur, up close and personal. 🎬

delivered an experience that I will certainly remember for years to come, really pushing how singer-songwriter’s can use classical spaces and create an intimate and engaging new experience. Peter Sommer is grounded and playful, willing to divulge all the story, especially the parts unflattering— in between songs, making one feel like a family member around the coffee table while uncle performs some “numbers” new and old on every instrument in the house. Bravo Peter!

What an immense pleasure to lay witness to Theodora, at work, running the stories from the Editor(s) to the talent, on Europe’s most watched news program, TF1 primetime. Theodora is the direct link to the anchorman, feeding all information from the war room to the live earpiece, one story at a time. Being there from start to finish of the 8 o’clock news, I felt my adrenaline and pulse rise to the occasion, despite only being a guest behind the scenes. What a rush. There is a team effort that happens 24 hours a day, in shifts, just to make it run. With over 120 correspondants globally, it’s a well oiled machine that I am proud to say my sister is a part of. Thank you also to for his patience and being such a good sport letting us walk 5 minutes in his shoes when the cameras were off. What a show. Merci

On location with for Royal Copenhagen, a cold winters day. Recreating Tuscan afternoon sun vibes in the danish winter. Felt like wearing sunglasses all day— the magic of film sets. 🎥🎬

I’ve known Kasper for nearly 13 years, he was the first to get me featured in a fashion magazine back in 2011, to that I will always be grateful. Ever since his Classensgade days, over half of my closet has been curated by him and his team. Now, Kasper unveils his Magnus Opus, the architecturally drawn and built men’s retail capital of Copenhagen, The Goods Store 3.0… Congratulations & the great team that has supported your vision all these years.

Snows rollin’ in tonight. The city is quiet tonight as the sun 🌞 has left us for a few days to give way for some much needed ❄️. The sleds, cross country skis and snowmobiles are itching for some new powder to cut through. ❄️

2nd day of shooting at the HQ of porcelain, absorbing the finer points of handmade creations from the venerable house of Royal Copenhagen, this setting weds Flora Danica with bridal scenes.

A happy happenstance, off-camera objects randomly placed while waiting to be used. Reminded me of a Todd M. Casey painting. “Good to be back on set, Twenty-Twenty-Three”

Enjoying the serenity of Carl Jacobsen’s tropical oasis, while the rest of Copenhagen’s streets are seemingly overflowing with shoppers and yuletide drinkers. This has remained one of my favourite spots since moving here in 2006… ☕️🖋️📔📷

A sign that refers to other signs… You can feel the nervous energy behind those bold block letters. This homemade sign in Copenhagen leaves me guessing, and reminds me of my father when he would ask me to find his tools. The “where” and “which” was always “obvious” to one of us. In film news, Orwo has relaunched a color german film stock, the first new color stock made in Germany in nearly two decades. Will share some results from my newly reunited M6 (been away in Wetzlar & Austria since the summer)

Ben and Priszci, taking in the rooftop views after a long solid shoot. Up here the mosquitoes didn’t find us (as easily) but the sunset pastels did. Thank you for your continued excellent service. Amazes me still that I can shoot these snaps on a camera from 1957.

An ode to coffee. Everything I know about coffee I learned from the gentleman on the right. He’s been providing me with that hot black elixir since the fall of 2007. Claus and Pawel run a tight ship and shop. If you like premium slow food culture, this is your joint!

A restaurant scene, on a sunny Østerbro evening. Marie Kristine told me that she felt like we were out of country here. I agree. A little Italy on the danish “riviera”… particularly happy I caught that red rabbit on my rangefinder patch before it slipped away into the sunset…

When I think of cities with proper integration of past and present, I look to Roma, Firenze, or Rennes. But then I was introduced to Split, Croatia by my friend Mario. 2,700 years old in its center, fully integrated, every square centimeter of it, with its modern parts. But then again, not that many city centers were built by “eccentric” retired Roman Emperors. Hats off to you Croatia, for keeping the past amongst the living.

Last day of intensely hot filming sessions in Mallorca, Spain. It was only 27 degrees celsius, but at over 70% humidity the entire time… we were almost 🙏🏻 for rain for some reprieve. So last day, just after the final outdoor shots, came the rain and thunderous lightning. Was able to capture this moment with an iphone, and that strange flare is real. Nobody makes a better strobe flash than mother nature…

Enjoying a sunday at Charlottenlund’s finest. Peter Hansen, Pissaro, Corot, Gaugain, Hammershøj, Delacroix, Dupré, & Finn Juhl were all finely presented at this gem hidden in the greenest oasis just outside Copenhagen. you would probably stay a month…

January 2022, Sisimiut. Venturing deep into icy lands on Stella’s sled. Stella is a professional dog sled racer, and once in a while she takes on amateur explorer’s like us, so we feel a bit of what its like on one of her week-long deep Greenlandic tours. We were supposed to fly through the snow and ice for the better part of a day, but were cut short after just 2 hours. A freak accident, her first, saw our sled in an instant split its front end in two, and all of us went airborn. None of us saw it coming, as we were flying downhill when the left rail slipped into a hidden air pocket under a thin layer of snow and sent the sled in a barrel roll. The dogs kept going while we landed each in their own pile of snow. No injuries. After everyone checked themselves for holes and scrapes, I checked my cameras. They survived, but the focus on my Leica M4 was thrown completely out of allignment. I still had a week left and many more rolls of film to go, so I zone focused the rest of the trip. That worked fine. Can’t kill a brass camera even after a tumble in -20°c… Stella was never worried even though we were half a days walk from civilization. No signal. After 2 hours waiting on the trail, a group of scooters saw us and used their SATNAV phones and called in some friends to help. Stefan, a local electrician returning from a long run with his own dogs stopped and offered to pick us up. Stella told us to go as she had plenty of provisions and wanted to wait with her dogs for her aunt to arrive with a backup sled. We met Stella’s aunt an hour later on the trail getting a snow scooter to tow the red sled to Stella. We learned later that aunty arrived two hours after we crossed paths. Stella’s race dogs were so eager to run that even with the two hour head start her warrior dogs overtook us 15 minutes before we arrived at base camp. In fairness to Stefan’s dogs, they were tired after their own long run and were more adept at chillin’ than runnin’ 😎🦴
