In response to the rising unemployment trend in the IT sector, Künnapas acknowledges the increased number of IT specialists registered as unemployed due to recent layoffs. However, she highlights a good specialists are quick to embrace new challenges, reinforcing the resilience of the industry.

Katarina sheds light on the shifting dynamics in job seeker expectations. There's a notable increase in talent proactively engaging with job opportunities, reflecting a heightened interest and activity level in the market.

Also, she points out a significant transformation in salary expectations. The once prevalent high demands have given way to a more realistic approach, with a remarkable decrease of up to 12 % in the past year. This shift signals a potential stabilization of the salary market in the Estonian IT landscape.

Creating protected systems is very important in today's Estonia, where our digitized society and economy increasingly depend on well-functioning solutions. The implementation of the information security standard, known as EITS, is a state initiative, the aim of which is to increase the information security level of Estonian companies and institutions. More than 3,000 companies and institutions should implement the standard by today, but unfortunately, not all of them do so, thus significantly increasing the security risks in their systems.

Meet our very own Superman (or should we say SuperCat🦸) - Mikk Merimaa! Three years ago, he started his journey with us as a junior intern, and with sheer hard work and dedication, he has soared to new heights, first into a mid-level developer and now holding the role of Tech Lead.

Our mission: to develop a cutting-edge labor market expert, user support, and maintenance service for their information systems. 🌐

As the project evolved, we realized that the scope was more extensive than we initially anticipated, leading us to assemble a larger and even more dedicated team. 🙌 Team manager Tatjana Vladimirova emphasizes the vital role of effective communication in nurturing this growth. 🗣️

This summer, we continued to work on the development and maintenance of the information systems of the unemployment fund.🌞
Wisercat´s primary focus remains on ensuring the smooth generation of disability benefits payments on a monthly basis while optimizing the entire system. 💼

We are happy to announce our partnership with Digix, a dynamic player in the Brazilian tech scene, dedicated to leveraging technology to strengthen public management. Together, we're embarking on a journey to revolutionize the Brazilian education sector through digital innovation.🎓💻

In late August, Wisercat's Senior Growth Manager, Jason E. Medina, joined forces with Digix at the prestigious Agile Trends conference, the leading event for agile methodologies in the Public Sector, held in Brazil. 📈 We had the honor of sharing our insights and experiences on digitalizing government services and exploring the possibilities of implementing AI in the public sector at the conference as well as discussing the same topic on a local podcast and TV station.

Jason E. Medina and Digix even took to the airwaves, featuring on a radio station to discuss our partnership goals and the future implementation of IT development in the education sector starting with the State of Mato Grosso do Sul and The state of Espiritu Santo.

But that's not all! We also had the privilege of meeting with the State Secretary of Education of Mato Grosso do Sul.

This trip has been a success, and we're elated about the incredible opportunities that await us. Jason was invited to be a panelist on the next Agile Event in São Paulo in 2024!🇧🇷

It was a true delight to see all the Wisercats come together to make memories that will last a lifetime. 🎉✨
🏖️ We embraced the beach (lake) vibes, had some fun while rafting to Rummu ash mountains, balanced on SUP Surfboards, and played an adrenaline-fueled “Libehoki” game.
During the evening 🎶 the sounds of music filled the air, and we could enjoy a live performance of the great Jekaterina Margalnikova band, and our own awesome company band “the MusiCats” had their surprise premiere! ✨
Fun games, good talks, and a hot sauna (traditional ending to our events) helped us to unwind and enjoy the pawsome Summer Days event!

The Summer program includes mentorship in a purr-fect environment, educational components, and culminates with a pitch of a working solution to the client.

Very roughly:
🔵Team Tallinn has a goal to create an internal system for Wisercat,
that should gather all our projects information.
🔵Team Tartu will create an application for the Estonian Tax and Customs Board, that will simplify entering and checking the data received from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Catzelerator trainees will:
🔵have a chance of creating a real working solution & get paid for it
🔵get a team and a mentor
🔵test out different roles in a real software development team
🔵test out their pitching skills and do a demo of the created solution

This year the focus of the event is on how to implement digital innovations more efficiently, prevent digital vulnerability, and be ready for the increased use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the public sector.

For over 15 years, Wisercat has been supporting governments and businesses in their digital transformation journeys, regardless of their maturity level, and we´re glad to share our expertise at the event.🌐

Last week Wisercat was honored to take part in IT Management Annual Conference 2023 (IT-juhtimise aastakonverents 2023) which this year focused on digitalization, employee recruitment, and retention.

Wisercat Estonia CEO Mehis Sihvart has a unique experience in leading Estonia´s first IT center called the Registrite ja Infosüsteemide Keskus -RIK. Almost 12 years in this role gave him a great overview of the customer's role in the IT business, both when leading his own team and buying external developments, and now also in a private company Wisercat. In his presentation, Mehis focused on the topic of how to be a smart customer.

We gained lots of learnings and insights from KPMG Baltics, Saku Metalll, Netcorp, Eurora, Dise International AB, Sporrong Eesti, Tehnopol, Salvest, and Tallinna Ülikool.
