Model United Nations of Tallinn - MUNOT
Model United Nations of Tallinn is an annual simulation of the United Nations facilitated by Tallinn German Gymnasium.
This is the official page of Model United Nations of Tallinn 2022 conference which takes place March 24th-26th at Tallinn German Gymnasium. MUNOT is an educational simulation in which students learn about diplomacy, international relations and the work of the United Nations. MUNOT teaches students how to research, write, publicly speak, and debate on political topics. In addition, partic
Picture this: a room bathed in the glow of resolution papers, the echoes of passionate debates filling the air. Now, imagine the door swings open, and in strides the maestro orchestrating this diplomatic symphony. The wizard behind the curtain, the puppeteer of peace – our very own Secretary General Mark Tjurlik!
Before assuming the coveted role of the Secretary General, our distinguished leader was the rockstar of past MUNOTs. He has navigated the treacherous waters of committee sessions as a Main Chair, weathered the storms of unmoderated meetings as the Delegate of Pakistan and even represented MUNOT in Denmark as a member of the “Viva la Gabon” alliance.
Mark wishes for the debates to be exceptionally heated, with the delegates defending the interests of their country fervently this year.
Ladies and gents, this is the moment you’ve waited for… Please welcome Triin Erala, the President of the General Assembly!
Two years ago, she began her MUNOT journey as the Ambassador of Germany. Last year, she stepped into the shoes of a Deputy Chair. And now, here she is, the chief of all Chairs, the PGA.
She will make sure that the conference runs as smoothly as butter and that nothing goes wrong under her watch.
Let it be known that the success of the General Assembly is Triin’s utmost priority. So don’t even try to just blabber some nonsense, she WILL ask you to get to the point, provide examples and present a complete argumentative thought process with pros and cons that obviously must be perfectly organized and logical. No slacking off with her !!
Anyway, with that being said, she looks forward to seeing you all at this year’s MUNOT conference. Best of luck and have fun! :))
„MUNOT alone enlists the full force of man’s enlightened will.“
– Franklin D. Roosevelt
Working to safeguard the reputation of this renowned observation by the late U.S. President, the MUNOT team has employed a second Conference Manager to serve alongside the fabulous Elle, Mark Anry Kriisa!
He started out in 2022 as Deputy Chair of MUNOT’s Legal committee and went on to represent Iran in MUNOT 2023, being declared best delegate of his committee. Mark joined the ranks of the famed Gabon Clique along with Mark and Mark to represent the country in EGMUN 2022 and to prove to the world that (country) size doesn’t matter.
Having gathered valuable insight into MUN conferences, he feels prepared and thrilled to work with the magnificent organizing team to deliver a great MUNOT experience for all delegates (except of course for those who dare challenge his egalitarian rule!!!).
He is looking forward to impassioned debates and hopes to see you all gossiping to your hearts’ content at the MUNOT 2024 conference in April!
Prepared to rock this year’s Conference and, in her own words, “knock everyone’s socks off”: Introducing our Conference Manager Elle Bartosik!
She first took part in MUNOT in 2022 as the humble delegate of Indonesia, already winning best delegate the following year as the Ambassador for the Holy See, convincing everyone that the Holy Roman Empire had not in fact fallen.
This year she has decided to take on the task of bringing the Conference to new heights with fresh ideas and sustainable solutions, which will be set in motion with an amazing organizing team.
You’ll notice her colorful head anywhere, when she is running around in the background, making sure everything is running smoothly. Don’t get on her bad side though, as any disrespect or tardiness will be met with swift executive action.
She expects a welcoming conference where delegates will learn to shine with their resolution making prowess and yearn for more MUNOT in the years to come!
Eva-Liis Vipre, Manager of the media team, is the human embodiment of caffeinated wit and sarcasm.
She attended MUNOT in 2022 and 2023 as a member of the Ad-Staff and Ambassador of Brazil, and is ready to take many pictures and produce high quality content for your pleasure at the conference in 2024!
Eva-Liis is the queen of comic charm and contagious laughter. With her ability to turn even the most boring situations into comic gold, she is a force to be reckoned with. She is always ready to put a smile on your face and brighten your day, so prepare yourselves.
She will keep you updated on everything on social media platforms!
Make sure to also check out our website to take a glance at the rest of the Media team!
Next up is our Accommodation Manager, Marie Vibeke Must!
Having previously successfully represented India and China, the two most heavily populated countries in the world, Vibeke feels that taking care of the needs of only an inconceivably small fraction of delegates compared to the number of residents in the aforementioned countries, her job is going to be a piece of cake.
As the best new delegate in her committee in 2022, she has a soft spot for the struggles of newcomers and will gladly help them realise their ambitions. She will be a good shoulder to cry on and turn to with even the most peculiar problems, both before and during the conference.
Introducing Mona, the Ad-Staff Manager behind the scenes at this year’s MUNOT, clad in the finest blend of professionalism and humor!
Drawing inspiration from her previous period as Ad-Staff, Mona’s journey from team member to Manager has been fueled by a personal commitment to make the conference not only efficient but also enjoyable for the hardworking staff and delegates alike. In the whirlwind of MUN chaos, she ensures Ad-Staff operations run seamlessly, handling everything from note-passing to vote counting with a smile and precision. Her secret weapon lies in the magical ability to transform chaos into coordinated chaos, with a dash of humor.
However, let it be known – Mona has zero tolerance for dress code violations. Anyone daring to defy the conference style guidelines will be called out, no exceptions. Moreover, she is a staunch defender of the Ad-Staff, ensuring no delegate mistreats these dear team members.
So, brace yourselves, as Mona leads the charge with a smile, a sprinkle of laughter, and the unshakable belief that world peace might just start with a well-timed joke.
Next up, our incredible IT manager (who is still figuring out how to update her phone), Stefany Härma, has participated in two MUN conferences: once in MUNOT 2023 as the delegate of Russia, and also as the delegate of Gabon in EGMUN 2022, where she was with this year’s GA3 Chair, Financial Manager, Conference Manager, and Secretary-General. Hence, one may say she is a certified nepo baby. Nevertheless, she is committed to making lots of memories this year and is open to helping everyone in need (although, keep in mind that she exclusively uses a Mac).
Say hello to your Glorious Leader of the First Committee: Jegor Proskurin!
This beauty has taken part in MUNOT since the year 2022, starting off as a devoted delegate of Iraq and advancing as the ambassador of the USA(🦅RAHHH!🦅) the following year. This has given him all the needed experience to be the Main Chair of GA1.
It is well known to everyone that the First Committee is the pinnacle of diplomatic discourse, so Jegor expects every delegate to be on top of their game and represent their countries’ best interests. Delegates can expect an unparalleled experience filled with rigorous debates, negotiations and occasional banter, as we navigate the complex landscape of disarmament & international security under the leadership of our capable and visionary chair, Jegor.
Introducing the Debooty Chair of the First Committee, Sander Saagpakk!
He first joined MUNOT two years ago. He has represented both the countries of Nigeria and China and kicked a** for both of them, but is yet to receive the best delegate award (for some reason). This year he has finally given up and has taken upon a new challenge as the deputy chair of GA1!
He may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but he sure likes to think he is. People also might call him a bit acoustic but he is proud of it and that is truly the only thing that matters! He will try to keep a balance between a professional and a silly workplace but gives no guarantees.
He hopes for resolutions that do not include hard words to write down because he has trouble with them. But all jokes aside he is looking forward towards a funny yet meaningful conference, that is full of quirky jokes and tears of joy.
But most importantly, he hopes to see you in the First Committee!
Next up, introducing the Main Chair of GA2, Keity Liis, who’s attacking her wardrobe to find formal and classy, MUNOT dress-code fitting clothes for the third time, however this year she has taken a break from being a delegate for Germany or South Africa and is dying to know, what the biggest secrets of the MUNOT world are.
Her main goals for this year’s conference are as follows: Providing a fun environment to have lively and humorous debates, not to have any delegate correct her and ensuring that every delegate represents their countries interests with the most up-to-date knowledge, while writing as much gossip as one possibly can. As you can tell Keity has a special place for secrets and gossip in her heart, but she’s also a fan of banter as well as sarcasm, so don’t be afraid to ask for help or anything else if you can handle a circuitous answer!
She hopes the delegates have a fantastic time at the conference without feeling too nervous.
It is expected that you all cannot wait to meet her, but sadly we still have some time to wait. She is eager to meet all the delegates already!!
Introducing the Deputy Chair of the Second Committee, Margus Saar!
His past experience in MUNOT is as a delegate of France during the last year’s conference, during which he acquired more experience than most state politicians and decided to apply for the position of Deputy Chair.
Margus expects Delegates to be respectful and constructive while fulfilling their duty as delegates. That being said, humour will not be frowned upon in the Second Committee and will be valued highly! He would also very much appreciate it if delegates were more enthusiastic than Sergey Lavrov while delivering their speeches since sleeping will be strictly prohibited! He hopes that everyone involved will have a blast during this year’s MUNOT!
As a quite recent discoverer of Model United Nations, Ott is excited to step into the role of main chair for the Third Committee. Having started his MUN journey two years ago, when he attended the 2022 EGMUN, which he followed up with taking part in 2023 MUNOT, he is ready to get a good first time experience as a chair, while also wanting to further develop his knowledge of the intricacies of the MUN. Outside of MUN, Ott likes to drive around with his friends, play EU4 and read fantasy novels.
He is eager to prove himself as a capable and supportive organizer, who the delegates can trust for an interesting and enjoyable experience. Ott expects a certain degree of mutual respect between the chairs and the delegates to ensure a fruitful and productive event.
“The Deputy Chair of the 3rd Committee is the best person to talk about politics with.”
– Susanna Sarapuu
She has taken part of MUNOT as a delegate for the last two years and is looking forward to her upgraded position this year, so that she can punish you harder than ever (and of course so that you can have an educating experience!). Susanna is known for having a political opinion on everything, but don’t be scared - she is always ready to listen to what you think.
If you need help with your moves, while dancing as a punishment, she’s the woman to look for, as dancing is also one of her m a n y passions.
Susanna is looking forward to seeing you in the 3rd Committee and will welcome you with open arms!
Meet Märt, who during this year’s MUNOT conference will be taking up the position of a Main Chair of the best committee in all of MUNOT, the 4th committee!
Being a seasoned MUNOT veteran, having experienced the conference from different perspectives and this being his last year, he is ready to take on this conference with confidence, with determination and never before seen levels of unbelievable professionalism. With his goals set on making this the experience of a lifetime for delegates, who have earned his respect and with it, his heart.
But make no mistake, it is not all sunshine and rainbows in the 4th committee, all who fall under his judging gaze and are found undeserving of his admiration will receive a cold blooded punishment, the chairs’ blank unfazed eyes leaving an everlasting painful memory of the delegates’ failure and therefore a reminder, to just be better.
With his sense of humor being well below average and having the dryness of a thousand suns, it lies comfortably between being unfunny and non-existant, so don’t expect him to make you smile. 1It should, however, still be noted that smiling in the 4th committee is required at all times and is constantly being enforced, with people showing even a speck of sadness or boredom being subject to the aforementioned punishment. He has deep connections to the upper echelon of Ad-Staff and is not hesitant to call for backup when the situation calls for it.
So put on your game face and bring the heat to fuel the burning passion of this year’s MUNOT and especially the 4th committee!
Up next is the deputy chair of the 4th committee, Maria, who agreed to take on the role solely to avoid writing another position paper as a delegate. Her previous experiences with MUNOT include representing Saudi Arabia and Brazil.
She promises to approach every situation with a smile and pledges to balance out the intimidating aura of the main chair in her committee. (However, don’t be fooled - she can also put on a stern face if the delegates don’t behave :))
That being said, she hopes that everyone will thoroughly enjoy this year’s conference and is eagerly awaiting the heated debates that will unfold.
Next up we introduce this stylish fella, the Main Chair of the Sixth Committee, Marta Schotter. She took part in MUNOT last year as the delegate of South Korea. This year she wanted to challenge herself by taking up the role of Main Chair.
She has always been a great organizer, so she will, without a doubt, excel at being a Main Chair. She might seem intimidating at first due to her emotionless facial expression, but do not fret, for she is actually kind and understands the nervousness of the participants. She expects interesting debates and great resolutions from the delegates, but also would like for the delegates to enjoy themselves and have fun.
With the registration now open, we wish to introduce to you the organizing team of MUNOT 2024!
Having played the game and risen through the ranks we have the Deputy Chair of the Sixth Committee, Helen Lehmann!
She started her MUNOT journey as an Ad-Staff member, and the next year, she took part as a Delegate of the United Kingdom. Both previous positions have given her the ultimate knowledge on how this event works (probably). This is why she has decided to continue climbing the ladder and become a Chair.
Knowing people from all walks of life, she will find someone, who knows someone, who knows someone who will know something, so don’t worry; all questions will be answered (for legal reasons, she can’t promise anything). To contrast the Main Chair’s seriousness (bad cop), she has decided to be the unserious Chair (good cop). But be careful with what you tell her, as knowledge gives power and power gives punishments.
Although she encourages professionalism, she wants to remind everyone not to take everything too seriously and to enjoy this annual conference!
Attention delegates! If you are interested in taking part of the MUNOT 2024 conference, please fill out the registration form LINKED IN BIO and below this post! See you soon!

Another incredible MUNOT conference in the books!
We were thrilled to host 100 young delegates from Estonia, Germany and Latvia at the MUNOT conference 2023 who brought their passion and creativity to the table, representing their countries and tackling some of the world's most pressing issues facing our global community and came up with some inspiring resolutions. But it wasn't all work and no play - we also had a ton of fun and our very own Late Show . Thanks to everyone who participated and made this year's conference a huge success. Can't wait to see what we can accomplish together next year! 🌍🌎🌏
