With the piece presented in the Jewelry and Travel exhibition, Egle wants to capture the idea of places, memories, and how they affect us through materiality. It revolves around the feeling of belonging when moving from one place to another, adapting and being influenced by the new environment (e.g. places, culture, language, etc.), and yet staying somewhere in between, never fully blending in. Hopefully, all these new experiences which are not always comfortable, enrich us and our views and make us more aware and tolerant toward others, different than us.

Happy Friday! Today's post is about the moments which stay behind the scene. I often share my creative process, but during the years of making jewelry I made many many beautiful photoshoots as well. What you see in social media and my website it's the beautiful pictures of talented photographers and models which became friends, to camp together, make picnics and have a lot of fun while making pictures. I am very grateful to meet the bunch of talented people who help me to show my jewelry trough their lenses.

Landscape earrings. Those who doesn't know, before starting with jewelry I made my BA in textiles. Onion has a very strong natural pigment which is used for natural fabric colouring. While making this imrpovized photoshoot, I found similarities with the alloy making: the colour of the metal is unpredictable hard to control and even a bit similar in shades when using onion pigment.

It's fascinating to see craft from the different perspectives!
