Donia Akram Deghedy | Vocal Instructor

* LEARNING AND SINGING
Donia learned to play piano at Alexandria Conservatoire. Her furthered her studies by taking up to Grade 8 in piano and music theory through the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music in London (ABRSM) and Trinity Guildhall with Mr. Mina N. Hanna. Donia took various masterclasses with Austrian Piano Professor Johanna Horny-Neumann at the University of Vienna, and she acquired her licentiate degree in classical singing from Trinity College London

* PERFORMANCE
Donia made her debut in operatic roles such as “Lucy” in Menotti’s The Telephone, "Mme Silberklang" in Mozart's Der Schauspieldirektor, “Donna Anna” in Mozart’s Don Giovanni in the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, and "Michaela" in Carmen in the Institut Français d’Égypte à Alexandrie. She has performed a diverse repertoire of Arias and art songs across steemed venues like the Cairo Opera House, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, the Jesuit Cultural Center, the French Consulate, and the Institut Français d’Égypte.

* CONDUCTING AND CHORAL LEADERSHIP
Her conducting journey began in 2015, attending online courses, and later in 2016, she participated in Cairo Symphony's annual conducting masterclass led by Ahmed el Saeidi, in addition to summer courses, such as Sherborne Summer School of Music in the United Kingdom in both orchestral and choral conducting. Donia showcased her conducting skills with orchestras like Sherborne Music School Orchestra and the Cairo Symphony Orchestra, conducting renowned symphonies and choral work. Notably, she trained and led the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Choir in performing Operas and masterpieces since 2018. Donia has also been training the Cairo Symphony Children's Choir since 2022.

* TEACHING
Donia has been teaching singers to become better classical singers since 2021, and she has notable case studies showcasing students who have made it to well-known roles.

Manar Adham , was born in alexandria . she started playing violin in 2004 with Dr. Nevine ElMahmoudy at Alexandria opera house , she joined the suzuki classes from 2004 till 2015 .Then She joined the children orchestra at Alexandria opera house from 2006 till 2013 , then she joined the youth orchestra till 2018 , then she became a member at alexandria opera house chamber orchestra .
She joined Alexandria's conservatoire in 2008 with Dr. Fawzy Ibrahim and graduated with diploma degree in 2018 .
She joined Bibliotheca Alexandria's orchestra in 2011
She joined the Arab youth philharmonic orchestra in Egypt in 2018 and 2021 , and in Moscow Russia in 2023 , and Joined the International youth symphonic orchestra in Bremen in 2019 .

She is preparing for grade 8 Lilian also chosen to represent Egypt in the Guitar world day 2021.
Lilian is a guitar instructor in Russian culture center, damnhour opera house, Tanya cultural center and the British school Alexandria also she was the guitar instructor at the Horreya center

Welcome to our Children's Choir Summer Workshop!

Through the workshop your child will have the opportunity to work with an experienced choir director and music educators, who will guide them through a variety of engaging exercises and activities.They will learn how to read sheet music, understand different musical styles, and work together as a team to create beautiful music.

In addition to rehearsals and vocal training, we will also incorporate fun team-building activities and games to help your child build friendships and develop important social skills.

At the end of the workshop, your child will have the opportunity to showcase what they have learned in a performance for family and friends. This is a wonderful opportunity for them to share their newfound skills and talents, and to feel confident and proud of their accomplishments.

About the choir master:
Donia has been training the Bibliotheca Alexandrina choir since 2018, to perform famous Operas and masterpieces such as Opera Carmen, Orff’s Carmina Burana, Rossini’s Petite Messe Solonnelle,Borodin’s Polovtsian Dances, Mozart’s Coronation Mass, Dvorak’s Stabat Mater and many others. Donia has also been training the Cairo Symphony Children choir since 2022 to join the Cairo Symphony Orchestra in great works such as Mahler 3rd Symphony.
She is always encouraging and leading the choir to join well-known choral societies and festivals, such as the Arab Choral Network and the Greek Choir Festival in Preveza.

The Cello Studio workshop by Ahmed Abdelhakim

The workshop presents Individual cello lessons tought in the presence of the other cello students which will be once weekly

Attendance requirements:
1- Students should have the minimum level of cello basic techniques at least on the begginer level
2- Each student should bring his own instrument and his sheet music.
3- All levels and ages are allowed

The aim and the target of this workshop:
• Creating a community for the Alexandrian Cellist.
• More enjoyment and fun in learning cello and music in a group.
• Creating a strong motive for more cello and music practice
• Developing a habbit of practicing cello daily to be able to perform a piece at the end of each week.
• Instead of learning only from your own mistakes, you will learn also from others' mistakes.

Short biography about the instructor:
Ahmed started cello playing at the age of seven years old at the Alexandria Conservatory. Ahmed has studied under the instructions of the best cello professors in Egypt and Abroad. He played in many orchestras in Egypt and abroad. He participated in many concerts as Soloist, Chamber musician and Orchestra player in Egypt and abroad. Ahmed teaches the cello at the best music institutes in Alexandria since 2009. He has obtained his high school musical diploma from the Cairo Conservatory and continued his higher musical studies at the Cairo Conservatory. Ahmed attended a cello teaching course in Aachen – Germany with the professor Hans-Christian Schweiker.

About the instructor:
Salma Tayeh, the founder of the Self Healing Initiative, is a yoga teacher and somatic healer that merges various healing and therapeutic methods to her sessions. She earned her Bachelor's of Arts in Social and Behavioral Sciences in 2011 from the American University of Kuwait, completing her capstone in Reykjavik, Iceland.
Her undergraduate major was in Anthropology and minor in Communication. Upon graduation, Salma completed a post graduate certificate in Applied Behavioral Modification as she worked with differently abled children and adolescents. Then worked for three prominent psychological and therapeutic centers in Kuwait: the Applied Behavior Center (ABC), Kaizen Center, and the Fawzia Sultan Healthcare Network. Her role included providing stress management and mental health trainings to corporations, raising funds for therapeutic programs focused on early interventions and parenting workshops, and conducting intakes to clients using art, play and dialect techniques with children and adults. In 2017, Salma was exposed to her initial 'mindfulness' experience at the Irish Mindfulness Institute in Dublin, Ireland. Since then, she realized the therapeutic impact of integrating meditation, shadow work, and movement healing to modify one's behavior and heal emotional instability including: depression, anxiety, panic attacks, substance abuse, eating disorders, attachment problems, and identity issues. Salma earned her 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2020, focusing on pranayama (breathwork) and chakra vinyasa flows. She is also a certified Access Bars healer and currently conducting a 300 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Ta**ra Yoga, focusing on women health and reproductive anatomy. She also attended various workshops in India, Bahrain, and Kuwait to integrate various schools of breathwork, somatic movement, and mindfulness.

The Crown House art center presents Mastering Cello Sound Production Workshop by the cellist Ahmed Abdlhakim

- Age from 9 years old and above till adults
- Previous knowledge of cello playing is mandatory
- All levels are accepted
- The student with the exceptional performance at the final concert could get a free spot at the future workshops
- Students should prepare 3 lyrical pieces to play during the workshop(e.g. The Swan for Saint Saens, Elegy for Faure, vocalise for Rachmaninoff or other pieces of the student's choice)

بدا احمد في العزف علي الة التشيللو في سن السابعة من عمره بكونسرفتوار الاسكندرية. درس تحت اشراف افضل اساتذة التشيللو في مصر و الخارج. قام بالعزف في العديد من الاوركسترات في مصر و الخارج. شارك في العديد من الحفلات كعازف صولو, عازف موسيقي حجرة و عازف اوركسترا في مصر و الخارج. يقوم بتدريس العزف علي الة التشيللو بافضل معاهد الاسكندرية منذ عام ٢٠٠٩. حصل علي الثانوية الموسيقية من كونسرفتوار القاهرة و اكمل دراسته للموسيقي بالمعهد العالي للموسيقي بالقاهرة "الكونسرفتوار". حضر كورس لتدريس الة التشيللو مع الاستاذ الالماني هانز كريستيان شفايكر باخن بالمانيا.

‎عن الفنان:
‎بيشوي فنان / موسيقي وطالب في برنامج الرسم / التصوير بدوام كامل في أكاديمية برشلونة للفنون.
‎ منذ الطفولة بدأ في الرسم والنحت والتلوين. اعتاد على تجربة مواد جديدة واكتشاف كيفية عملها ، والتسلل إلى المحاضرات وورش العمل الفنية واستوديوهات الفنانين وفي كل مكان يمكنه العثور على أشياء جديده ليتعلمها إما من الفنانين وورش العمل للأطفال وحتى للكبار ، بين أساتذه الجامعه و هيئة التدريس والمسابقات الفنية والمعارض والكتب وفي أي مكان يمكنه العثور على تعليم الفن والفن ذاته.
‎منذ ذلك الحين كان يدرس مع الكثير من الفنانين الكبار في مصر وخارجها في عدة ورش عمل مثل دوريان إيتن وريان براون ودانييل بيلمز بالإضافة إلى معلمي الأكاديمية نفسها وحتى الكثير والكثير من مصر مثل سامي هنس وفيكتور يونان أمجد قديس وكثير مما يجب ذكره ، كما اعتاد التدريس أثناء الدراسة والعمل مؤمنًا أن الفن يجب أن يصل إلى أي شخص وأن كل ما نتعلمه يجب مشاركته للنمو أكثر فأكثر يعمل حاليًا في عدة مشاريع في الاستوديو الخاص به في أيام العطلات بين فصول الأكاديمية و طبيب اسنان مساء.

We will experiment and learn together how to "see and analyse" as it is the key for any artist to build on, we will see through the academic eyes and the classical methodologies of the 19th century ateliers and practice together in this 2 days workshop to try to analyse and see other perspectives in our works and ourselves.

About the artist:
Beshoy is an artist/musician and a recent student in the full time drawing/painting program at the Barcelona Academy of art.
Since childhood he started to draw, sculpt and paint.
He used to try new materials and discover how it works, to sneak in lectures, artistic workshops, artists studios and everywhere he could find sth to learn either from artists, workshops for children and even for adults, among faculty professors, artistic contests, exhibitions, competitions, books and in any place art and art education could be found to learn.
Since that he used to study with alot of great artists in Egypt and outside in several workshops As Dorian Iten, Ryan Brown, Daniel Bilmes In addition to the teachers of the academy and even alot and alot from Egypt Like Samy Henes, Victor Yonan Amgad Kadies and alot to be mentioned, and also he used to teach while studying and working believing that art should reach anyone and everything we learn should be shared to grow more and more
Currently he is workinh on several projects in his own studio in the holidays between the academy terms.
