This section is designed to include the various aspects of implant treatment, from patient selection to treatment planning, surgical placement and prosthesis construction.

Every candidate is required to place one implant in a patient under one to one supervision of professional course supervisors at Alexandria University.

ADVANCED 2024

We are glad to announce the starting of the registration to the 20th batch of the Advanced section of CDICP.

This section is designed to take dental practitioners who are already placing implants a step ahead in their careers. This section is mainly intended for those who have already taken a basic implant course and have placed and restored some cases.

(I) LECTURES
• Recent advancements in treatment planning and imaging
• Immediate implant placement in freshly extracted sockets
• Managing patients with compromised bone quality and quantity
• Bone splitting – bone expansion – bone grafting
• Sinus elevation techniques: Concept and planning
• Techniques Guided bone regeneration
• Soft tissue management around dental implants
• Flapless implant placement
• The role of lasers in dental implant procedures
• Creating highly esthetic implant restorations in the esthetic zone.
• Full arch fixed cement-retained / screw-retained restorations (Treatment planning – Patient selection – surgical considerations)
Implant Overdentures (Treatment planning – Patient selection - surgical considerations – prosthesis construction – Splinted VS un-splinted implants – Different attachment designs)
• Immediate implant placement in freshly extracted sockets.
• Guided bone regeneration: Materials and techniques
• Implant maintenance and follow-up.
• Managing Surgical and Prosthetic Complications and Failure.
• Occlusal concepts in implant prosthodontics
• CAD CAM applications in implant prosthodontics
• Loading protocols - Achieving predictable immediate loading
• Implant complications, failure and management

(II) Clinical training:
Place a minimum of 10 implant units in single tooth restorations, multiple teeth restorations, full arch restorations, and overdenture patients.
- Perform at least one GBR case (bone grafting and membrane)
- Optionally perform a sinus lift procedure.
- Single tooth restoration (cement / screw retained),
- Multiple teeth fixed implant supported restoration,
- Full arch fixed implant supported restoration.

(III) WORKSHOPS
• Guided bone regeneration (bone grafting and membrane application)
• Peri-implant soft tissue management and grafting
• Radiographic interpretation and 3D implant planning.
• Digital surgical Guide fabrication
• Conventional impression techniques of implant restorations.
• Digital workflow of implant restoration construction (Scanning, designing and construction)
• Sinus lifting workshop.
Benefits:
- Participant will receive certificate accredited by Faculty of Dentistry, Alexandria University (350 contact hours).
- All CDICP certified candidates have the privilege to be certified from the International Team of Implantologists ITI after passing the ITI Curriculum exams of both the foundation and intermediate levels.
- Candidates who finished the one-year program are exempted from attending the German Board of Oral Implantology program GBOI course and entitled to enter the GBOI EXAM directly. The certificate is directly from the German Board and is accredited in all Arab and Gulf countries. It a step towards obtaining a masters’ degree of Oral Implantology from European Universities.

Dr. Hawas is an Alexandria University graduate who went on to obtain his Masters in Prosthodontics from the University of Manchester. His enthusiasm for excellence did not stop there and he finished his PhD in Implant Dentistry from King's College, London.

He will share with us an interesting lecture about ‘Implant Treatment in the Esthetic Zone”.
