❤️🔥The inner sanctum of the Temple of Horus in Edfu, Egypt, is the most sacred part of the temple and contains a replica of the sacred bark of the god, Horus.
❤️🔥It was transported down the Nile each year to Edfu so that Horus and Hathor could be reunited.
❤️🔥The god would also be carried to the roof of the temple annually, so that the sun could replenish the god's powers.

This Late Period stone sarcophagus is a masterpiece ❤️🔥
🔹️The broad collar is studded with tear drop carvings, delicate rosettes, and finished on both sides with the head of Horus, the Falcon god.
🔸️The focal point on the chest shows the deceased on a lion-themed bed, protected at both ends by goddesses Isis and Nephthys.
🔹️So much protection on this sarcophagus. Above the deceased is a beautiful depiction of the individual's ba bird, or soul, ready to take flight between the world of the living and that of the dead.
🔸️Spells from the Book of the dead ensure smooth passage through the underworld to the field of reeds, paradise.
Egypt meets Greece and Rome
🔹️This stunning wooden inlaid coffin hails from theLate Period.
Alexander the Great's peaceful conquest of Egypt in 332 BC unified Egypt with the wider Greek world, and led to the long rule of the Ptolemaic Dynasty.
🔹️This lasted until 30 BC when Egypt became a Roman province.
🔹️Foreign language, art, and religion met with ancient Egyptian traditions, blending old and new.
🔹️This new cultural Hellenistic mix was introduced to the Mediterranean and beyond, influencing Greek and Roman culture.

Ancient Egyptian Clappers
The clapper is probably one of the oldest known percussion instruments of ancient Egypt.
They are shown as early as the prehistoric period, about 3700 BC.
Clappers can be made of ivory, bone and wood.
They can be straight or curved, undecorated or richly ornamented.
They often have face of the goddess hathor or representations of finely crafted hands ✋️
King Khafre, 3rd pharaoh of the 4th Dynasty 👑
🔶Khafre was the builder of the second largest Pyramid at Giza.
🔺️Discovered under the Valley temple at Giza, this statue is one of the most iconic sculptures of ancient Egypt.
🔺Made of diorite, quarried in T**h, near Abu Simbel.
🔥The use of this Stone shows that Khafre's power stretched all the way to the South of the country 🌠💪💪Fourth dynasty, 2520-2494 BC.
These silver crowns were discovered in the royal tombs of Ballana, Nubia. The design is Meroitic, but the semi-precious stones suggest the Byzantine style. The shapes & symbols show the Egyptian and Meroitic influence 🔺️ 4th-6thAD

What did ancient Egyptian dancers wear⁉️
Dance was highly valued in ancient Egypt. It was considered a vital part of creation and communication with the gods 🙏
In the Middle Kingdom, female dancers wore sheer robes & skirts. By the New Kingdom, they wore little more than a hip sash 😶🌫️
They wore garlands with ribbons and floral collars. Some female dancers wore a tattoo or painted image of Bes, a deity associated with music, dance, and fertility ❤️🌠🪄

🔺A Cartouche is an elongated Shen Ring that encircles the pharaoh's name for protection against enemies & evil forces🔥
🌿The cartouche represents a rope looped at the ends. Ancient Egyptians called the cartouche “shen” which means "to encircle."
💪The Cartouche symbolizes the Pharaoh as the ruling force over all which the sun encircles🌞

🧿Wadjet eyes on the sides of coffins magically let the deceased person's mummy see through the coffin walls ⚰️
The wadjet (right eye - sun) is commonly known as the Eye of Horus. 🔺️According to ancient myth, Seth tried to blind Horus by gouging out his eye.
🪄Magic was used to restore his sight and his eyes became symbols of regeneration
Right eye - Sun
Left eye - Moon

🟣A “Sekhem” (power) scepter was carried by kings, queens, deities, and important officials. 🟣It was used to designate earthly, divine or state power. 🟣At times, it was used in names like Pharaoh Sekhemkhet, and Sekhmet, the lioness-goddess whose name means “she who is powerful." 🟣Its symbolic role may have originated in Abydos. Osiris was often called "the Great Sekhem" or "Foremost of Powers,” and the sekhem was often used to symbolize him. 🟣This may have led to the Sekhem Scepter being associated with Anubis, as it was used in temple and mortuary offerings.
