We are pleased to highlight our continued progress on the construction of the Magdi Yacoub Global Heart Center.

The project is over halfway to completion, with recent achievements including completion of the concrete works particularly the complicated and iconic shell structures, façade installation, electrical infrastructure, and equipment installation.

Situated on 37 acres with a 27-acre built-up area and 300 beds, it's the region's largest cardiac care facility, and is set to serve over 120,000 patients annually.

We are proud to be part of a project that is set to have a meaningful impact on our communities. This project also builds on Orascom Construction's extensive healthcare portfolio, primarily focused on constructing and renovating various hospitals and medical centers throughout the region, enhancing healthcare services.

The Weitz Company, a subsidiary of Orascom Construction in the United States, has commenced construction on the new expansion of the Des Moines Airport Authority's Terminal.

Des Moines International Airport, a crucial transportation hub with 30+ nonstop U.S. destinations, is getting a state-of-the-art terminal featuring expanded security, improved gate operations, efficient baggage handling, enhanced dining and retail options, and modernized technology. The new terminal offers 18 contact gates on opening day, increasing aircraft capacity by 50%, a major boost to travel services.

Weitz's aviation expertise spans 30+ years and includes 55+ global airside projects, such as Kansas City International Airport's New Terminal and San Francisco International Airport.

This project complements Orascom Construction's impressive track record in the airport sector, with over 30 airport projects in the Middle East.

Orascom Construction is pleased to announce that our projects, the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) and the New Delta Wastewater treatment plant, have been named amongst the global best projects for 2023 by Engineering News Records (ENR), a leading global engineering and construction publication.

GEM, the world's largest archaeological museum in Giza, Egypt, featuring over 100,000 ancient Egyptian artifacts, was recognized as the best global project in the Cultural category.

Additionally, the New Delta Wastewater treatment plant was recognized as the best project in the Water/Wastewater category, with a capacity of 7.5 million m3/day, addressing water scarcity and supporting local infrastructure development.

These awards follow our previous global recognition by ENR for the Ras Ghareb wind farm in the Power/Industrial category, reinforcing Orascom Construction's leadership across diverse sectors worldwide.

Orascom Construction is pleased to announce that the New Delta Wastewater Treatment Plant in Egypt has been awarded four Guinness World Records (GWR). The project is executed in a joint venture with Metito, The Arab Constructors, and Hassan Allam Properties

The records include:

-Largest water treatment facility (320,600 m2)\
-Largest water treatment plant capacity (86.8 m3 per second)
-Largest epoxy coating in a building (520,339 m2)
-Largest sludge treatment plant capacity (670.01 kg)

As the world's largest facility of its kind, with a capacity of 7.5 million m3/day, this project aligns with Egypt's 2017-2037 National Water Resources Strategy, effectively addressing the pressing issue of water scarcity in the region.

These records also follow the Guinness World Records awarded to one of Orascom Construction's projects, Bahr El Baqr Water Treatment Plant, which broke three world records as the largest water treatment plant, the largest sludge treatment facility, and the largest single-operator ozone generating plant in the world.

We are pleased to announce the Grand Egyptian Museum’s (GEM) collaboration with the Egyptian Society for Mercy to Animals (ESMA). ESMA operates as a shelter and adoption center, providing refuge for over 2000 animals.

This partnership is dedicated to controlling the population of the stray animals in the vicinity of the GEM. It includes the collection, vaccination, and sterilization of these animals, aligning with Orascom Construction's commitment to our community and the environment.

We would like to extend our gratitude to the BESIX-Orascom Construction team for their efforts in following internationally approved scientific and merciful procedures to ensure the safety and protection of the environment, the people as well the cats and dogs in the vicinity of the GEM.

Orascom Construction announces that its consortium with Colas Rail has signed an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract with the National Authority for Tunnels to build a new regional metro system in Alexandria, Egypt.

This transformative project, spanning 21.7 kilometers and featuring 20 strategically located stations connecting downtown Alexandria with Abu Qir, marks an important milestone as the first modernization of a transportation system in Alexandria.

Orascom Construction has played a major role in the development of Greater Cairo Metro since the 1980s and is proud to now build a modern metro system in Alexandria. This project also highlights Orascom Construction's leadership role in the transportation sector and indicates the Group’s ability to secure high-quality projects with funding from international financial institutions.

The Group’s current and past projects in this sector cover a wide range of state-of-the-art and sustainable transportation systems, and include major projects such as the high-speed rail, metro, monorail, railway, and light rail transit covering over 3,500 km in Egypt and the Middle East.

Orascom Construction and Eagle Hills Properties have signed a contract for the construction of Soul Luxury Beach Resort, the new flagship development on Egypt’s North Coast.

The agreement, which is valued at EGP 1.9 billion, signifies a commitment to excellence in constructing and bringing to life parcels 3 and 4 (Flow – Breeze) within phase 1A of the resort

This project emphasizes Orascom Construction’s leading position and past success on key projects on the North Coast such as delivering high-profile projects such as Al Alamein Hotel in record timing and the Marassi Marina Yacht Club.

Congratulations to our teams on the recent milestones achieved at the Greater Cairo Metro Line 3 project.

The first metro train run test has already been completed at Phase 3B and is expected to start at Phase 3C in October.

Line 3 extends for almost 14 km and links east and west Cairo, making it the first transversal metro line in Egypt.

Orascom Construction is building this project as part of a French/Egyptian consortium. Orascom Construction has played an integral role in the construction of Greater Cairo Metro since the 1980s, and is active on all phases of Greater Cairo Metro under construction.

This milestone reinforces Orascom Construction’s leading position in the metro, railway, and transportation sector, and as a leading partner on mega projects in Egypt.

Orascom Construction is proud to announce that it has awarded full educational scholarships to three Egyptian students under the “Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program.” The students will attend Stanford University and the University of Chicago in the United States to pursue their undergraduate degrees.

The scholarships include full tuition, living allowance, travel allowance, and health insurance to Egyptian graduate & undergraduate students to attend prestigious universities in the United States in fields that contribute to the economic development of Egypt.

Orascom Construction believes that education plays a critical role in the positive development of Egypt. Over the years, we are proud of awarding 96 scholarships to Egyptian students under the program, which also requires students to return to Egypt and work for 2 years, upon completion of their degrees.

Orascom Construction is pleased to announce the completion of the first wind turbine foundation at the new 500 MW Build-Own-Operate wind farm in Ras Ghareb, Egypt.

This milestone reflects tangible progress on this new wind farm and highlights Orascom Construction's leadership across sectors such as renewable energy that are integral to development of sustainable infrastructure.

The project, which is under development in partnership with Engie, Toyota Tsusho, and Eurus Energy, combines the highest level of health, safety, and environmental measures, fast-track construction, financing expertise, and collaboration with world-class partners and international financial institutions, will accelerate expanding Egypt's renewable energy share, reducing CO2 emissions by approximately 1 million tons annually. Once complete, the project will supply over 800,000 homes with renewable energy.

This new 500 MW wind farm project also builds on the past success achieved by the same consortium in developing Egypt's first renewable energy Independent Power Producer (IPP) project of its kind and size (completed in October 2019 ahead of schedule) and triples the developer consortium's wind energy capacity in Egypt to 762.5 MW.

Highlighting another one of our projects on the North Coast of Egypt.

Progress is underway at Emaar’s Vida Marina Hotel & Yacht Club. The project’s area spans over 24,000 m2, with a total built-up area of c.37,000 m2. The hotel will include 120 guest rooms and suites, and 110 serviced apartments.

This project with Emaar follows the successful completion in record timing of Al Alamein Hotel, which Orascom Construction upgraded, refurbished, and converted into a re-branded luxury hotel on a fast-track basis in under 8 months. The project is also part of several others under ex*****on by Orascom Construction across a range of sectors including hospitality, residential, water, and infrastructure that play a major role in the development of Egypt’s North Coast into a global destination.

Orascom Construction has completed Al Hammam Pumping Stations Project, an important project that is integral to the infrastructure, commercial and agricultural development of New Delta, the largest in the history of Egyptian agriculture.

Orascom Construction was the main contractor of the project, which involved the construction of two lifting pumping stations, each with a capacity of 7.5 million m3/day, and 14 GRP transmittal pipelines that would contribute to the overall development and stability of the local infrastructure, ensuring a reliable water supply for various needs and supporting the agricultural development.

This project reinforces Orascom Construction’s position as a leader in the water sector in Egypt and the region and builds on other completed projects across the full spectrum of infrastructure, treatment, irrigation and transmission, such as the largest water treatment plant in the world.

Work on the new Marina Towers in the New Alamein City is well underway. The iconic project is comprised of two 41-story towers, each with 5-story podiums, and spanning a total built-up area of 300,000 square meters.

Orascom Construction continues to contribute to the growth and development of logistics and trade in Egypt by expanding Ain Sokhna Port, one of the Middle East’s essential ports.

The expansion involves an 18-km of quay wall structure and the construction of four new basins.

Orascom Construction announces the inauguration of a large potato factory and storage complex in Sharq El Owainat, Egypt.

This project plays an important role in supporting Egypt’s sustainable needs for important strategic crops and directly improves quality of life for all nearby cities.

Orascom Construction is proud of its project team that managed to achieve an outstanding performance throughout the project and during various challenges including scarcity of supplies in such a remote area, with the nearest city 700 KM away.

Orascom Construction was the main contractor and the ‘design-build’ responsible party of the project and was responsible for the full coordination between different entities and suppliers to bring out an integrated potato factory complex.

The project comprises a potato factory that spans over an extensive area of 296,000 m2 area, equipped with innovative technology for efficient production of various end products.

The complex also includes separate large, refrigerated storage capacity for over 130 thousand tons of products and seeds to ensure quality and longevity.

This project also received multiple quality certificates that highlight adherence to rigorous industry standards: Global Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), GMP Good Manufacturing Practices, GLP Good Laboratory Practice, and Food Safety Certificate ISO 22000/2018.

Orascom Construction takes great pride in this achievement that advances the Egyptian agricultural industry.

Introducing the unique Cairo Light Court at the Grand Egyptian Museum, built by BESIX and Orascom Construction!

This unique feature is an inverted pyramid that's cut through the museum's main volume, with two glazed, inclined planes that allow natural light to flood into the gallery spaces.

The court is formed from two intersecting, triangular planes that create a beautiful void, and a bridge structure allows visitors to easily move through the space.

The result is a special experience that offers a unique view of the museum's landscape. We are proud to have been part of this landmark project that celebrates Egypt's rich cultural heritage.

We are thrilled to announce the completion of Tawila Island, Egypt's first-ever dedicated tourism island in the northern Islands of the beautiful Hurghada region, Red Sea.

Accessible by a 45-minute boat ride, the island spans over a remarkable area of 21 million square meters and features an impressive range of facilities including 30 bungalows, a presidential suite, arrival building, special restaurant building, gym building, kids club building, pool entertainment building, and various other amenities.

Introducing the University of Florida's New Undergraduate Residential Complex with Honors College, a state-of-the-art facility designed to promote a sense of community among students and Honors program staff.

Weitz, a fully owned subsidiary of Orascom Construction in the US, is currently constructing this project, which spans approximately 40 thousand square meters and is located in Gainesville, Florida.

The facility will provide comfortable living spaces for students and will feature academic support spaces, faculty offices, and a variety of recreational areas. The Great Lawn will offer outdoor amenities, while the Great Hall will provide convertible space for various events.

The University of Florida's New Undergraduate Residential Complex will play an important role in elevating student living.

This project also builds on Weitz’s strong track record in the student housing sector, which includes the largest student housing center built in the US at Texas A&M University.
