It is with regret that we inform you of the imminent closing of the Sa Re - MASBUT Gourmet food Shop in Gezira, Luxor.
As Sa Re transferred production last year to El Gouna, maintaining the shop open has proved more complicated than anticipated.
We will be closing definitely on January 9th. MASBUT products will still be available in Luxor, more information will follow.
Sa Re would like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers, friends, and passers-by, for their never-ending support and appreciation. Valerie, Hamada, Birte, Mahmud, Emad: you were also precious, and the shop wouldn't have happened without you. Thanks to all of you from the bottom of my heart. Klaus, you have a special place, as always.
Opening the shop was, for me, such a huge step. I will forever remember how it felt to see my Sa Re logo on that enormous sign over the shop.
The Gezira shop embodied the success of the first part of our adventure, some informal recognition of our progress. As we move forward, the shop lost some of its pertinence, but Luxor will always be "where it all started".
As we need the shop emptied, we will offer a special discount of 20% on all Sa Re products and 10% on all MASBUT products to all our customers.
And to those who will miss the Sa Re products, we can promise we'll try to organize deliveries from time to time.

Our Story
It all started with a duck.
They say it was 2015, but they’re not sure if it was before, or after JC... well, probably a bit of both.
Some 5000 years ago, Ancient Egyptians invented foie gras, which (quite recently) became the world-class modern French delicacy.
So we decided to bring it back to its country of origin, and create a local production of foie gras.
But with the duck, every part is the best part. So we work with the liver, of course. And the breasts (magrets), for sure. But also the legs and the gizzards, confit (gizzards confit are “meat so tender you can eat it with a spoon”). And the duck fat, the duck rillettes (a duck meat spread), the very trendy pulled duck, the dried magret...
