IT’S NOT SOMETHING TO HIDE

Every summer, women end up spending untold amounts on treatments and products to try and banish dimples before showing off their legs. We’ve been made to feel like it’s an unnatural thing to have, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.

Simply put, cellulite is where fat deposits push through the connective tissue beneath the skin, creating a dimpled appearance.

➖ Not a Defect, Just Natural
Cellulite is NOT a defect or flaw. It’s a common, natural occurrence and more about genetics and skin structure than anything else. Around 80-90% of women experience cellulite at some point in their lives.

➖ Not a Health Issue
Remember, cellulite isn’t a health condition. It’s purely cosmetic and does not indicate poor health.

➖ The Truth About Creams and Oils

AM I TOO YOUNG TO LEARN ABOUT HORMONES?

Absolutely not.
I am Enya, one of the co founders of Enaiya and I am about to turn 20!

Being part of a brand that focuses on self-care for women has made me aware of how important it is to understand the role your hormones play. And how much they impact your health and wellness.

I am here to say that women of my age should be encouraged to learn about hormone health and how best to support it. We may be too young to be in perimenopause however we can learn to minimize symptoms experienced during our cycle. Suffering from PMT is not natural and we should not be in pain!

Being aware of how to care for your body is so empowering. From my experience the younger we learn the better.

THE TRUTH YOU NEED TO KNOW 👇🏻

It’s time we confront the pervasive myth that there’s a secret formula, a magic pill, or a hidden regimen that guarantees weight loss. Especially once we start to battle with per/menopause weight gain.

We are inundated with messages by experts (or not in most cases) who claim to have found “the answer.”

They haven’t.

Weight management and fat loss is a nuanced, individual journey, and what works for one person might not work for another. Especially when hormonal decline does affect our metabolism and also how we store fat.

Yes, there are many tools you can use to aid in your weight loss journey, be it fasting, varying diets, nutritional supplementation, or specialized workouts. These tools can be beneficial when applied with understanding and in the context of your unique body and needs.

But real, sustainable fat loss comes from a combination of consistent factors:

➡️A balanced whole food diet based on proteins, healthy fats and carbohydrates. No refined sugar. No ultra processed foods. No refined carbohydrates. And if possible alcohol.
➡️Regular physical activity including a few sessions of strength training every week. This is essential for fat loss.
➡️Adequate rest and sleep. This is non negotiable.
➡️Managing stress through mindfulness practices. This is also non negotiable.
➡️Self-love. Accept and embrace the changes in your body and do all of the above consistently. You will see results.

Stop the cycle of seeking shortcuts. Trust in the basics, rely on science, and remember that it’s a marathon, not a sprint.

You might think 40 is too young to worry about menopause, but it’s actually the perfect time to get informed and be prepared. Symptoms tend to start in the early 40s but can begin as young as 35. Knowing this can help you avoid being blindsided and unprepared for the emotional, physical and mental turmoil 🫠.

Being proactive about menopause means understanding the sign & symptom which are so much more than hot flushes. You can also learn self care practices that will help navigate the changes that come your way. And there will be plenty.

We need to normalize menopause and stop associating it with something that only happens to older women as this is not true. By educating ourselves and being proactive with prioritizing self-care, we can decide how we experience menopause as opposed to it controlling us.

Being prepared is EMPOWERING! So let’s prepare together.

Do you agree?! 🤔

Before-and-after photos are used all the time to sell products, and I admit I’ve been guilty of it too.

Seeing someone achieve their goals, whether it’s a body transformation, long, flowing hair, or luminous skin, is inspiring. But often, this focus on transformation becomes the main selling point for why we should invest in certain products.

As women in midlife, we already face plenty of challenges. So, seeing photos of someone who claims to have lost six kilos in six weeks might not resonate or be inspiring for everyone. We all know that such images don’t always tell the full story, and they often don’t capture the realities behind the scenes.

We need to focus on our own needs and what makes us feel good. Each of us has a unique journey, and our results are personal to us. What works for one person might not be suitable for another. Our journeys aren’t meant to follow the same path, nor are our goals identical.

How about we shift the conversation towards embracing each other and celebrating our unique journeys, rather than constantly comparing ourselves to others?

Ladies it’s time to lift each other up.

You might think you’re too young to think about menopause. After all, we all assume it’s something that happens as we get much older. However this way of thinking needs to be corrected.

It’s NEVER too early to start understanding your body’s future changes.

Menopause isn’t just for women over 50—it’s a pivotal health topic that can affect your life long before it happens. Perimenopause, the transition into menopause can last up to 10 years and start as young as 38!!!

Why wait for symptoms to surprise you in your 40s or 50s?

Early knowledge about perimenopause can empower you with strategies to mitigate symptoms, maintain bone density, and preserve your heart health. Knowing about hormonal shifts now could make a big difference later, helping you approach menopause not with fear, but with informed confidence and control.

Spring has arrived.

Soon we’ll be transitioning our closets and bearing more of our skin. It’s a time that can feel overwhelming for most women particularly when body confidence wavers due to the transformations of perimenopause and menopause.

Here’s a gentle reminder: Your body is beautiful , just as it is.

Forget the fear of being judged for your size or shape.

Cellulite, stretch marks, a little extra body fat…..They’re not flaws; they’re stories of your life lived.
