But, Tenerife is also perfect for relaxing and disconnecting from stress. Being a consolidated tourist destination, it offers an extraordinary range of accommodation, from the most exclusive to the most modest, where you can relax surrounded by all the facilities and services.

Lively beaches with fine sand and calm waters are found in the main tourist centers of Tenerife, located in the southern part of the island. But, there are also quieter beaches more secluded from the urban centers at various points along the coast. We find them with dark volcanic sand or in the form of wonderful pools and natural pools protected by waves. Either choice is perfect for enjoying a fabulous day at the beach. It is best to discover them and immerse yourself in them.

Observing the different species of cetaceans swimming freely in the south-west waters of the island of Tenerife, one of the few places in the world where they can be seen so close to the coast, is an experience hard to forget. In addition to pilot whales (calderoni) and dolphins that live here all year round, blue whales and orcas also come to this privileged area. A true sanctuary for these incredible mammals, which find here the ideal conditions for feeding and reproduction. The fragility of this valuable ecosystem forces us to ensure its conservation. The activity is regulated, so only authorized boats can carry out this activity under strict compliance with the rules that guarantee respect for these fabulous animals and their habitat.

If there's one thing Tenerife can boast of, it's its extraordinary natural spaces. But, there is one that stands out in particular: the Teide National Park, the most visited in Europe. In addition to its impressive volcanic structure of Mount Teide, the highest peak in Spain and a Natural World Heritage Site, here you will find perhaps the most stunning scenery you have ever seen. We are facing one of the most spectacular manifestations of volcanism in the world. Imagination is not enough to get an idea of the imposing panorama that appears before our eyes from the summit of 3,715 meters altitude, with an extraordinary view of the old volcanic crater of large dimensions, hundreds of cones, lava flows, d***s, rocks, without forgetting, of course, the species of flowers and fauna that live there, some even exclusive to Teide Park.

Those who are in good physical shape and have about six hours at their disposal can walk up to the top on the established path, but there is also the possibility to use the cable car and go up in just a few minutes. The Teide volcano, with an altitude of 3,715 meters, is the highest peak in Spain and a World Heritage Site. The National Park is the most visited in Europe and is among the most visited in the world.

For most of those who know the island, the Teide National Park is the quintessential natural jewel of the island of Tenerife. But, it is not the only one. Surrounding this volcanic landscape, we find another treasure, the Corona Forestal Natural Park, a luxuriant Canarian pine forest that stretches its entire immensity through canyons and valleys. A real show of colors that varies between the intense green of the pines, the blue of the ocean and the sky, along the dark tones of the great volcano.

The Macizo de Anaga Biosphere Reserve in Tenerife is home to exceptional cultural and natural values. Among them is the laurisilva forest in its higher areas. And there are still others. Such as Macizo de Anaga, one of the seven Biosphere Reserves of the Canary Islands and a refuge for species of laurisilva (humid forest, characteristic of the Canary Islands and Madeira, consisting of laurels and related plants, already extincted in most of the planet), where natural and cultural values coexist in perfect harmony.

Or the Teno Rural Park, a place with impressive cliffs, valleys and forested areas whose isolation played in its favor, allowing the valuable habitats that serve as a refuge for threatened species to be kept almost intact. Natural environments that are also home to charming villages dedicated to agriculture and animal husbandry.

In Tenerife, history is present in several of its localities. A clear example is San Cristóbal de La Laguna, a unique example of a colonial city that served as an inspiration for other American colonial cities. This, together with the fact that it preserves almost unchanged the original route from the 15th century, has led to its being declared a World Heritage Site. Orotava is also home to an important historical-artistic ensemble, as well as the center of Puerto de la Cruz, which has an interesting Botanical Garden.

Moreover, the civil and religious architecture of Icod de los Vinos and, of course, the huge millenary drago, an endemic tree of Macaronesia, are worth visiting. Or the coastal village of Garachico, which still retains the traces of the violent volcanic eruption suffered in 1706. And, of course, the capital of the island, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, where the hectic life of the modern city merges with a historic center delimited by a triangle of streets and squares where find the most emblematic buildings. One of them is the old Civil Hospital, an example of neoclassical architecture that houses one of the island's most interesting museums: the Museum of Nature and Archaeology.

With an endless list of options, it's impossible to get bored on the lively island- Tenerife. There are several parks dedicated to fun, two of which are considered the best in the world in their field: the Siam Park water park and the Loro Parque zoo. Forestal Park is the perfect plan for those who are looking for adventures in contact with nature, because here you will have the opportunity to play among tall trees, botanical gardens, ethnographic and amusement parks, karting tracks for speed lovers, shopping malls.

Tenerife offers answers to satisfy any expectation of fun and amusement.

The peaks of Tenerife Island are part of the three Starlight Reserves of the Canary Islands, an accreditation that gives an idea of the magnificent conditions of the highest areas of the island for stargazing. One of these privileged places is the Teide National Park where, surrounded by the impressive silhouettes of the volcanic landscape, the infinite night sky abounds in millions of bright points, the craters of the Moon and a few surprises. It is no coincidence that this is where one of the astrophysical observatories of the Canary Islands is located, a science center that you can visit by appointment.

And last but not least, here you have a vacation with wonderful culinary experiences. Enjoy the gastronomy!
It is one of the pleasures that Tenerife offers you. The island offers a lot of restaurants: from the famous "guachinches", modest places frequented by the local population where dishes specific to Canarian gastronomy and local wines are served, to the most luxurious restaurants, some even with a Michelin star. Traditional and avant-garde, basic dishes and almost artistic ones, local ingredients and from other parts of the world, the variety is endless. Among the traditional products are meat, fresh fish and black potatoes, an exceptional variety highly appreciated by renowned chefs. "Mojo canario", "gofio", garbanza, canarian cheeses, wines, fruits and a long list of desserts and sweets to complete your savory menu, are some of the gastronomic delights of the island.

Among the outdoor sports that you can practice on the island throughout the year, golf stands out. Tenerife has several golf courses designed by the best professionals in the world, as well as complete facilities where players of all levels will find everything they need. But those who love the sport are not only attracted by the fact that they have first-class grounds and facilities at their disposal, but also because it is a real privilege to improve your technique with views of the majestic Teide volcano or the deep blue of the Atlantic.
