Merijn has been living in Barcelona since 2008 and joined our Greenbikes team 12 years ago !

Merijn loves meeting new people and enjoys to cycle around the city in the open air 🌤️

Merijn loves that Barcelona’s districts have their own character. His favourite area in Barcelona is El Borne , where he likes to go for walks🚶🏼‍♂️

On his days off, Merijn likes to spend time with his wife and son, going out for dinner and grabbing a drink. He is also busy with Martsja, a martial art!🥋

🚲 GET TO KNOW JAAP 🚲

Jaap moved to barcelona 12 years ago and has been a part of our Greenbikes team for 7 years !

Jaap loves the freedom tour guiding brings him, and enjoys sharing the good vibes of Barcelona with others.

Jaaps favourite spots in Barcelona are usually the outskirt areas, like standing on the Collserola looking over the city. He likes to get some fresh air on the Montjuïc trail next to the castle 🏰

Jaap spends his free time going on small hikes with some company, around Barcelona. He recommends you to go walk through Teatre Grec and other Montjuïc gardens 🌷

Kay moved to Barcelona 5 years ago and has been a part of our green bikes time for a year.

Kay loves nothing more than bringing joy and happiness to others and thats why she decided to become a tour guide in the sunny city of Barcelona 🌞

You will often find Kay in the areas of poble sec or gracia, where she spends time with friends!

On her days off, she enjoys hiking outside of the city and surrounding herself with nature 🌸

🚲 GREEN BIKES TIP 🚲

Now is the perfect time to try out the catalan tradition that we call calçotada !

One of our favourite places to eat some calçots is can borrell. It is located in collserola. You can take a beautiful walk towards the big, old masia.

Calçots are like spring onions, but here in catalonia we eat them with a delicious romesco sauce 🤤

🚲 GET TO KNOW KIM 🚲

Kim loves Spain and especially Barcelona. For this reason, he moved to this vibrant city 5 years ago. He has been working for Green Bikes for almost a year now.

Kim started here as a guide because he likes to share his experiences and love for barcelona with people.

Kim enjoys walking through the city with his headphones on, listening to some good music. He can often be found in the area around Parc Putxet 🌳

Besides walking, he really enjoys a glass of wine on a terrace and going out. We have Kim to thank for our beautiful tour photos 📸

🚲 GREEN BIKES TOUR 🚲

Macba is the contemporary art museum which is one of our stops on our highlights tour. It is located in the neighbourhood Raval. It is a hot spot for skaters 🛹

You’ll find nice bars with terraces around Macba and of course there are great art exhibitions also.

Its one of the favourite stops for a lot of our guides and they will explain interesting facts about macba.

🚲 GET TO KNOW BOU 🚲

Bou has been living in Barcelona for eight years, and has been a tour guide here at green bikes for over a year giving English tours

Bou is passionate about history, art and theater and that is why he decided to become a guide. Bou was a guide in Madrid before he lived in Barcelona !

Some of Bou’s favorite spots in BCN are the Gracia neighborhood and Ciutadella park 🌳

On his days off he likes to go to the beach to read a book or meditate!
Bou also loves to go to museums and recommends that you visit the Picasso museum 🏛️

Els llums de Sant Pau.
In this old modernist hospital designed by Lluis Domènech i Muntaner you can enjoy this lightshow. It starts before Christmas and it ends the 15th of January! So do not miss it, it is really worth the visit! You can buy the tickets online. ✨✨

🚲 GET TO KNOW GERT 🚲

Gertrude moved to Barcelona over 9 years ago and became a tour guide 8 years ago! She has been a part of the greenbikes team for 2 years!

Gert loves being a tour guide because she gets to meet new people and she can show everyone around the beautiful city she calls home 🏠

Sant Antoni is her favorite area in Barcelona because it hasn’t been discovered by many tourists and there are lots of cool places to go. You can find lots of hip bars and restaurants around calle parlament.

Gert likes spending her time going on hikes outside the city as there are lots of beautiful places in catalunya to hike and she always recommends doing the montjuic tour to see a different side of the city 🏔️

🚲 GET TO KNOW PERRY 🚲

Perry has been living in Barcelona since 2011 and had been tour guiding for 7 years. He decided to join our green bikes team over one year ago.

Perry loves the autonomy and flexibility tour guiding offers and he likes that he gets to be outdoors, entertaining people 🌳

His favourite spots here in BCN are the back of the W, plaza del rey and behind the cathedral

Perry spends his free time with his son, going on walks or grabbing a bite to eat at his favourite restaurants ‘El pachuko’ which he days is the BEST mexican fast food 🌮

🚲 GET TO KNOW KRIS 🚲

Kris grew up in Barcelona. He is half German, half Colombian but we can say he is part Catalan too!

Kris loves to be a guide because he loves history and the city. Everyday he is excited to show our German clients the ins and outs.

One of Kris his favorite neighbourhoods is the Born, because of the art and the nightlife!

Kris his favorite restaurant: El Asador de Aranda. It is a typical spanish restaurant!

When Kris has a day off you can find him on his skateboard, making music or riding his bike! 🚵🏼

If you are not celebrating Christmas in Barcelona and you want to take a nice souvenir for your Chrismas tree or other decorations. There is a very nice Christmas market in front of the Catedral de Barcelona! Tip, go in the evening to get into the Holiday spirit!

🚲 GET TO KNOW MATHIEU 🚲

Mathieu has been living in Barcelona for 14 years and joined our team at greenbikes 4 years ago.

He loves being a tour guide because it means he can spend his time outdoors and be with people who want to learn about Barcelona. He likes that when his tour is finished he still has time to go to his favourite spots in Barcelona

The two places he enjoys most are Barceloneta beach and Montjuic, both with amazing scenes 🏝️🏔️

On Mathieu’s days off he likes to swim in the sea, play beach volley and go out to join in on Barcelona’s amazing night life.

He always recommends el born to go out for dinner. There are many options to choose from in that area and of course Montjuic for a little hike … you might even find him there !

- tours uit de winkel helpen
- afrekenen tours / verhuur

Green Bikes werkt samen met Baja Bikes. Dit is een Nederlands bedrijf, dit betekend dat vanaf maart heel veel Nederlanders fietstours komen doen, wij ontvangen de klanten, regelen de gidsen en de tour vertrekt vanaf onze winkel. Hierbij zal de stagair(e) helpen, op een drukke dag hebben we 90 mensen of meer op tour. Onze locatie is midden in het centrum van Barcelona en vanaf maart begint het hoogseizoen. Dit betekend meer werk en veel werkervaring voor degene die stage komt lopen bij Green Bikes
