ARE YOUR XMAS GIFTS TOXIC?
Christmas shopping season is upon us once again, ho,ho,ho, oh no! 😅
As I’ve been wandering around the pretty gift shops in Barcelona, I’ve noticed a lot of scented candles, which seem like the perfect gift for many. After all, who doesn’t like the cosy, warm feeling they create, especially in Winter! 🔥✨
As lovely as they seem though, paraffin-scented candles contain toxic chemicals, which release into your environment when lit, and negatively affect your health when breathed.
🚫 Paraffin is derived from coal, or crude oil, which contains carcinogenic chemicals, such as toluene and benzene.
🚫 Phthalates & fragrances found in these products are known ‘HORMONE DISRUPTORS’, which unbalance your hormones, promote fertility issues & cancer.
Removing endocrine disrupting chemicals is one area I work on with my clients, when we are trying to fix hormonal problems.✔️
🚫 The Environmental Protection Agency have stated burning several scented candles a week, in an unventilated room, can increase your risk and can also be problematic for people with asthma & allergies.
Have you every noticed feeling sick, got a headache or an itchy nose, when you’ve been in close contact with something fragranced? 😖
Instead of buying traditional scented candles, shop for more natural options like Beeswax, or Soy, but be aware, even those can be loaded with chemical fragrances.
Check they are made with only essential oils, or even better, opt for a healthier gift, like an essential oil diffuser. Yes please Santa, already on my Christmas list!

More and more I'm feeling the need to be out of the city, even on a work day, so I took myself off to do some remote working in one of my favourite beach locations today!
I prepared a healthy picnic lunch to eat at the beach, had a swim, sunbathed, then hit the cafe with my laptop for a few hours 😎💻
I'm leaving the hot and humid weather of Barcelona behind today and heading home to rainy, green England to visit family 🤗
Looking forward to some cooler temperatures and a good night's sleep in the English countryside!!
