VUELOS PUROS Y CÓDIGOS COMPARTIDOS
*Vuelo puro: es un vuelo operado y comercializado por la misma compañía.
*Código compartido: es un vuelo operado por una compañía y comercializado por otra.
En los últimos años han proliferado las alianzas entre compañías y una de las consecuencias son los códigos compartidos.
Por ejemplo: Iberia no vuela hasta Seattle, pero a través de su alianza con British, puede vender billetes hasta Seattle en “código compartido”. Es decir, puedes encontrar un billete con Iberia para volar entre Madrid y Seattle, vía Londres, donde el tramo Londres-Seattle aparece como vuelo de Iberia operado por British Airways. A estos vuelos los denominamos códigos compartidos.
Lo más importante que debemos saber es que los vuelos en código compartido no permiten la reserva de ningún “servicio especial”, esto es, NO SON VÁLIDOS para: menores no acompañados, servicios de acompañante, comidas especiales, sillas de ruedas, equipajes especiales, inclusión de mascotas, tarjetas de puntos y/o cualquier otro servicio distinto del mero transporte.
Las ventajas son el precio y las conexiones. Con una única tarifa y un solo billete se cubre la ruta entre Madrid y Seattle sin necesidad de tener dos billetes y dos tarifas, una para el Madrid-Londres y otra para el Londres-Seattle.
