Imagine stepping into this beautiful kitchen, where soft beiges and warm wood wrap the bottom half of the space, creating a cosy, inviting atmosphere. Interior designer Emilie Melin architecte enhances this warmth with an all-white upper half and open cabinets, making the room feel light and airy. This harmonious blend of textures and tones is a perfect example of warm minimalism.

We especially adore how the rounded edge gently transitions from the wooden floor to the terrazzo tiles, adding a touch of softness to the sleek design.

What’s your favourite design element in this beautiful kitchen?

When Ella Moore from colourful Instagram account @ ivy.cottage.renovation, renovated her kitchen she wanted to create a warm space with emphasis on texture.

Drawn to complementary colour schemes she masterfully combined our handmade zellige tiles in a muted salmon shade with the most amazing green cupboards. The rich Iroko wood and leafy plants infuse a lush tropical vibe elevating the cosy and inviting space. Pure love!

We are starting the year paying tribute to Pantone ‘s Colour of the Year! Peach Fuzz is a delightful warm shade with the perfect balance of pink and orange. It’s calming cocooning feel makes it ideal for inviting and soothing spaces. While we adored last year’s vibrant Vivid Magenta, Peach Fuzz has quickly become one of our all-time favourites.

Did your jaw drop too? We are blown away by the bathroom aesthetic that the talented interior designer Keltie Wijsman has created. The bold and chic terrazzo floor harmonises flawlessly with the zellige tile walls, creating a modern masterpiece.

The pièce de résistance? Striking, bright orange that adds a pop of colour like no other. Speaking of which, the designer has taken inspiration from her familiar surroundings of Madeira’s landscape, creating a truly one-of-a-kind space.

Spotlighted here are our terrazzo tiles from our collection M100 in colour TGF for the floor. On the walls, our charming zellige tiles in format 10x10cm in colour 1080 adds a touch of unique vibrancy, creating a harmonious interplay of textures and hues.

Are you torn between patterned and plain coloured tiles? Why not use both for a feature floor with a twist? Here are four popular ways to combine them:

1. Create a classic look framing plain tiles with patterned border tiles.

2. Design an original checkerboard layout using plain and patterned tiles.

3. Concentrate patterned tiles amidst plain tiles to separate or highlight specific areas

4. Opt for a contemporary approach by scattering a smaller number of patterned tiles randomly among a greater number of plain tiles.

Consider your personal preferences, as well as the tile shape and pattern, when making your choice. For example, hexagon tiles lend themselves exceptionally well for random placement, but don’t work for a checkerboard layout.

Our featured star tile, ref. 10240, is one of our most playful patterns. It stands beautifully on its own and pairs wonderfully with plain tiles. Currently in stock in six colours, including the showcased vibrant red, blue, and yellow. Tile inspiration! When choosing tiles, our recommendation is that your first decision should be whether you want them to be a standout feature or seamlessly blend in with your interior.

If you opt for an accent tile, it can take the lead in shaping your overall concept or bring all the other elements together. These tiles play a significant role in defining your space.

On the other hand, if you prefer tiles that serve as a discreet backdrop, select textures and colourways that harmonize with and enhance the other features.

Take a look at this stunning project by Nomad eleven , showcasing how an accent tile can be the perfect finishing touch that adds a wow factor to the interior. The tile design beautifully complements the warm colour scheme, while the bold pattern creates a captivating contrast, bringing rhythm and visual interest to the space.

Need expert advice on choosing the right tiles? Send us a direct message, and we'll connect you with our customer service team fluent in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, German, Dutch, and Flemish.

The cement tiles used by Nomad eleven in this project are our hexagon cement tiles, ref. PP103 in colours O + B.
