Snaps from our October guided Portuguese Camino tour!

This lovely group enjoyed a week of fabulous cycling in both Spain and Portugal, discovering the ancient Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route from Porto all the way to Santiago de Compostela.

Along the way, they explored some of the most beautiful towns in Northern Portugal and Galicia: Ponte de Lima and its iconic medieval bridge; Baiona, a historic fortress against pirate attacks; and the colourful city of Porto.

They also took a daytrip to the spectacular Cíes Islands, a protected nature reserve nicknamed the "Caribbean of Galicia", thanks to their pristine white sand beaches.

Congratulations pilgrims, and we hope to see you again very soon!

La Vuelta 2024 provided us with plenty of memorable moments: exciting summit finishes, unbelievable sprints, and the passion for cycling that we all share.

In Week 1, we braved the heat in Andalusia, cheering the riders on as they zoomed through some of Spain's most spectacular cities and pedaled past olive groves and white villages.

In Week 2, we headed north, following la Vuelta along Spain's wild Atlantic coastline and into the verdant interior of Galicia and along the millennial Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route.

Week 3 took us to Cantabria, where we experienced the legendary Vuelta climb up to the Lagos de Covadonga, before heading back down into La Rioja, Spain's most famous wine region, where we toasted the riders with a glass of local red from our VIP finish line zone.

We rounded off our La Vuelta experience with the grand finale in Madrid, enjoying our very own private area in the VIP Neptuno zone. We were close enough to feel the wind on our faces as the riders zoomed by!

On our La Vuelta tours, you'll enjoy luxurious accommodation, challenging rides on top-of-the-range bikes and exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the race and the riders. Noone else gets you closer to the action!

Check back with us in December for the tour plans for La Vuelta 2025!

We’ll cycle the wild Atlantic coast of Spain, discovering the beautiful seaside city of Baiona, the endless albariño vineyards of the Rias Baixas and the historic city of Pontevedra.

Next, we’ll explore the spectacular interior of Galicia, discovering the breathtaking views and hidden monasteries of the Sil Canyon, and cycling the ancient Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route between the ancient cities of Villafranca del Bierzo and Astorga.

Uncork a bottle of red, today is El Día de La Rioja! 🍷

La Rioja is a cyclist's dream. The scenery is like something taken out of a fairytale: medieval hilltop towns, surrounded by endless vineyards; the Cantabrian mountains in the background; secluded monasteries tucked away in hidden valleys… and then of course, there’s the wine!

Winemaking in La Rioja dates back to the first Phoenician settlers in 11th century BC. It was the Romans who really got winemaking going in the area, and pilgrims walking through the region on their way to Santiago de Compostela helped spread the fame of La Rioja wine.

Nowadays, La Rioja boasts more than 14,000 vineyards, and the wine produced there has its own PDO (Protected Denomination of Origin) status. Some 85% of La Rioja wine is red, but you can also try La Rioja white and rosé wines.

Did you know that Catalonia has no fewer than twelve distinct wine regions?

Catalonia has been an important area for wine since ancient times. The first vines were planted 2500 years ago by the Greeks, who came for the strategic coastal location and stayed for the fantastically fertile soil, and later on wine culture was spread throughout the whole of the Iberian peninsula by the Romans.

After phylloxera devastated the European wine industry in the 19th century, Catalonia relaunched its wine culture with the invention of one of the world’s most famous sparkling wines: cava!

Our Empordà Food and Wine tour covers the gorgeous north east corner of Catalonia, a mixture of coast and mountain that produces fresh and fruity wines that have had Protected Denomination of Origin status since 1972. Visit a working winery (known as cellers in Catalonia), and enjoy an idyllic picnic among the grapevines, before hopping back onto your bike to enjoy some of Spain’s very best cycling along the rugged coastline of the Costa Brava.

“We absolutely loved our trip! The route was perfect and the scenery was beautiful.”

Thank you and congratulations to Sharon and David, who just cycled along the stunning Basque coast all the way from San Sebastián to Bilbao!

Our self-guided Basque tour is one of our most popular routes, and with good reason:

🚵 exciting cycling
🌊 spectacular coastal scenery
🦞 delicious fresh seafood!

The route begins in the elegant city of San Sebastián, which boasts more Michelin stars per person than any other city in Europe, and passes through charming seaside villages such as surfer haven Zarautz and the traditional fishing port of Mundaka, as well as historic spots as Guernica, made (in)famous by Picasso’s work of the same name. Along the way, you’ll discover the Basque Country’s unique language, proud culture and friendly people!

On May 17th, Galicia celebrates el Día das Letras Galegas: a celebration of the importance of Galician literature in the culture of this unique corner of Spain.

The Galician language, gallego, is one of Spain’s four official languages, along with castellano (Spanish), catalán and euskera (Basque). More than half of modern Galicians consider gallego to be their primary language of communication, and it plays a vital role in the cultural identity of this small, but proud community.

Galicia is one of our favourite regions of Spain: verdant mountains, dramatic coastline, picturesque towns and cities, a rich cultural heritage, and some of the country’s very best seafood! It’s also very well-known for its connection with the ancient Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route, which finishes in the region’s capital: the historic city of Santiago de Compostela.

If you’re looking to book a summer trip to Spain, Galicia might just be the perfect choice for you! North west Spain is the ideal escape from the intense heat that affects the south and centre during the peak summer months of July and August. Check out our French and Portuguese Camino itineraries, or contact us for help planning your perfect cycling holiday in Galicia!

What an amazing atmosphere today in Madrid! 🌹

Today, May 15th, we’re celebrating the festival of San Isidro Labrador, Madrid’s patron saint. Madrileños of all ages dress up in traditional “chulapo” and “chulapa” costumes and enjoy concerts, parades, “chotis” dancing and picnics in San Isidro park. The most religious Madrileños make their way to the Hermitage of San Isidro to drink from the saint’s miraculous spring, which is said to have healing powers.

If you’re in Madrid this week, don’t miss the chance to join in with the celebrations!

"We have done many bike trips and this one is on the top of the list!"

Kind words and stunning photos from this week's private tour, in which Gary, Eliane and our guide Enrique followed the Duero river from its basin in the Ribera del Duero in Spain, all the way to its mouth on the Atlantic coast of Portugal! 🏞

Along the way, they cycled through some of the Iberian peninsula's most important wine regions: Ribera del Duero, Rueda and Toro (Spain), and Porto and the Douro Valley (Portugal). 🍷

Stunning views, fabulous food and wine and great company are the name of the game on this tour. We had a great time this week with Gary and Eliane, and hope to see you again soon!

Today we’re celebrating the Festival of the Community of Madrid!

⚔️ Every year on May 2nd, Madrid commemorates the uprising of 1808, when Madrid’s people rose up against the occupying Napoleonic troops. Celebrations take place all over the city, including fireworks, parades, concerts and special exhibitions.

🖼️ The events of May 2nd 1808 and their aftermath are depicted in two paintings by Francisco de Goya, which you can go and visit in the Prado: “The Charge of the Mamelukes” and “The 3rd of May 1808”.

In honour of this special day in Madrid’s history, we’ve curated a selection of our favourite photos of our travels through the Community of Madrid. The city’s surroundings are surprisingly diverse: snowcapped mountains, verdant forests, sprawling vineyards and picturesque villages.

Have you visited the wonderful towns and countryside that surround Madrid? Click the link in our bio for more information about the guided and self-guided tours that we offer around Spain’s beautiful capital.

Last week, our colleague Javi had the opportunity to discover the beautiful Kingdom of Navarra and the amazing opportunities that it offers for cycle tourism at the first ever “Navarra by bike” Congress, organised by .

Those of us left in the office were extremely jealous of Javi’s photos as he cycled through the stunning Natural Park of Bardenas Reales, a lunar-like desert landscape less than 100km from the Pyrenees, and the spectacular medieval town of Olite, whose extravagant Gothic castle is now a luxury hotel.

The following day, the participants took part in a conference discussing the latest news and advances in the cycle tourism sector: insights into the experiences of international companies and clients, and new ideas for making our bike tours the best they can possibly be for our own guests.

Many thanks to for this amazing experience!
