MRDC GTI-R360 Touring Car Championship🏆
Designed to be a fun, exciting and affordable touring car Championship, for both seasoned gentlemen racing drivers from all over Europe & young talent looking to start racing. The Championship can also be entered by a single or two driver team sharing a car, races, costs & excitement.

The Championship will be run in Andalucia Spain, known for its warm all year round climate and fabulous race circuits such as; Ascari Race Resort, Jerez, Monteblanco, Guadix, Circuit de Almeria and Circuit de Andalucia. All of which are favourite winter testing circuits to European top race teams from TCR, GT2, GT3, GT, BTCC, WTCR & Formula 1.

The Championship is going to be managed with affordable running costs in mind. Race meetings are organised by: Racing Motor 26 & CAVA, who work with the Federacion Andaluza de Automovilismo, the Andalucian branch of the Spanish FIA.

10 races will follow the FAA Andalucían Racing Championship calendar, which usually hold 5 or 6 race meetings per year at Andalucia’s top race circuits. (*Usually as below)

Each race meeting will contain a qualifying session & two sprint races. Single or a two driver teams can be entered into the Championship. A two driver team would enter the fastest qualifying driver in race 1 and the second driver in race 2.

Drivers podium trophies given every race. Championship points given every meeting with trophies at year end “Gala of Champions”.

The first MRDC VW GTI-R360 Cup Cars arrived in Spain at the end of 2020. They successfully competed in the last 4 races of the Andalucian Touring Car Championship (CAVA). They were wrongly put in D5 (Super Touring) competing against much more expensive and faster TCR’s and GT4 cars. We have finally been told we will correctly be in D4 (Touring Cars) in 2021, where we will be fighting in the top third of a 30 car grid. The GTI-R360 Cup Cars have standard VW 2.0 engines, gearboxes, KO4 turbo with VAG race parts, Airtec intercooler and mapped to give around 360 BHP. They also have CUP CAR wide track suspension, wide body kits, KW 3 way suspension, rear wing and large 6 pot APR front brakes. The result of this is an affordable Cup Car close to the performance of TCR cars, except at less than half the price. Also the running costs of these cars will be very low as many parts can be bought from local VW dealers.

The first 20 cars are being offered at around cost price (only €45,000 each) to encourage a quick Championship Grid, which offers incredible value when compared to a new TCR car that would cost more than twice as much.

All enquiries and registrations for VW GTI-R360 Cup race cars are through MRDC, then built by Team Hard Racing in the UK. They come with an MSA Passport and serial number plaque showing they are eligible for the one make Championship.

🔥🔥The first track test day was held on Sunday 17th January at Guadix Circuit, for drivers interested in buying a GTI-R360, to take a few laps in one of the cars and meet some of the team before purchasing. 4 more drivers have already purchased new VW GTI-R360 touring cars which means with six cars ordered we are only 4 cars away from our own 10 car grid. Who else is going to join us in this affordable (by motorsport standards 🤣) and awesome one -make championship. No cheque book racing here, real racing 😁
