After many years of strenuous playing, I nearly gave up volleyball. Though I was coaching a few teams, but despite its success, coaching never gave me the same level of excitement.

Coming to Gran Canaria changed this. I was walking on the nudist dunes when I saw a group of older people playing volleyball near the gay beach. As the level was not high, I was tempted and played with them for two hours. The sand is soft and clean. Moving and jumping do not have a bad impact on my injured knees and ankles. The warmth I received from the other players was really touching.

I went back again and again, and made many friends!

What amazed me is that the good sea air seems to be rejuvenating my body. I increased the doze of fish oil and glucosamine supplements, and vigorously followed my belly exercises for core muscles. This is working well.

Now I am playing twice or three times a week, with players in their 20s and 30s. My body, though taking slightly longer to warm up, is coping fine. All my solid basic skills of volleyball are shining through. I am starting to play in tournament now!

Come and join us. This is great group of people, very international, English, Spanish and German are all spoken here. We also gather for parties, barbecues etc and help each other out!

Here in Gran Canaria has the best weather and location for volleyball. The air is fresh, the sand is clean, and people are very friendly.

The famous carnival, Gay pride twice a year, nudist dunes in Maspalomas, very lively bars and restaurants, and fairly cheap prices are all here.

There is volleyball for all levels, and all ages. Tournaments in Anfi on a amateur and professional levels are popular, attracting players from Germany, Sweden, Norway, France, Italy, Russia, etc etc.
