This week, the September festivals in honor of the Virgin of Fuensanta, patron saint of the city of Murcia, are starting. You already know how important religious festivals are in Spain, but it’s not all about religion. The celebration also includes its gastronomy, agriculture, and traditions. The city is decked out for the occasion, with numerous concerts, exhibitions, gastronomic events, attractions, and of course, bullfights! It’s a unique time to visit the city.

We have a new group of Irish students in Murcia, and it has been a very entertaining week. They are enjoying a very fun language immersion, the families, the academy, the school... the wonderful time. Everyone is helping these students leave with great memories and a good level of Spanish.

This is nearby Murcia. 40min drive. Torrevieja has a great salt lake. They sell this salt nationally and internationally. A Roman tradition that we keep nowadays.

This morning I had the opportunity to visit an exhibition that has been inaugurated at the Almudí Palace in Murcia. The exhibition was beautiful, but it is that the Palace enhances any work of art that is exhibited there. When you come to Murcia you can't miss this visit, I'm sure you'll like it.

Our Irish students today attend class with peers of their age. I want to thank the San Jorge de la Alcayna school for the opportunity they have offered these students so that they and the students of the school can experience a day of immersion and cultural exchange. As soon as they have asked for volunteers to show them around the school, they have gladly offered.
