Big ups to everyone in city hall for making these new maps. Only problem is that tourists don´t stick around for more than 1 class.....

A break from reality. A family/summer holiday. You will never catch me saying ´hols´. Recess is your break at primary school. Respite makes me think of something more therapeutic, perhaps with a sauna? Rest is what I never really get between morning and evening class; someone has to make the lunch! A sabbatical is something you´ve planned and hopefully gone over with your current boss and/or significant other. Time off is, well, just that! I don´t think a furlough is ever really by choice so it doesn´t really fit. Intermission for sports. To take a leave is a nice way of saying that you have fu**ed off! A breather is something you do when you´re at a party with people that you don´t like or at your in-laws´. Recreation or ´rec time´ is often used in both the academic settings as well as in correction and rehabilitation centers. Time for me….well, does that exist?

Finally, Cantelli and Co. are investing in real city-wide initiatives for Los Ovetenses. Any street map that you come across in the cleanest city in Spain will now indicate where Andy´s English is located.

Santa Clara Convent. 13th century. (the original part, that is). Watching the workers gut the building over the last 6 months has been interesting, to say the least.

Evening classes starting in September. Two different bus stops with several lines running frequently. A stones throw from the RENFE and ALSAS and a taxi stand right around the corner. Before class, run all of your errands and after (if you get out early enough) head on over to the park and grab a cold cone and take a stroll. Everything is right nearby. ¡Más céntrico imposible!

Andy´s Garden: Horticulture and English in Summer 2025 (possibly)

When I´m not teaching class, I´m in the garden with the family. Here are just a few pictures from last year´s harvest.
Butternut squash, great for soups, grilled, roasted, steamed, puré, for self defense etc...
Red Currants: Horrible balls of bitterness. They are awful.
Sunflowers: my wife grows an assortment of flowers and collects the petals to make skin creams, soaps and other cool things.
Eggplant: or as the Brits may say ´aubergine´.
Me: tying up some tomato plants before they get too big and tip over!

This year we got some new stuff that we brought back from the states last summer. Pics coming soon...

How do you say 'ganga' or 'chollazo' in English?

English is absolutely everywhere and Rich Bi***es are in Lugo de Llanera, Asturias.
