Your DUCK IS DEAD

A woman brought a very limp duck into a veterinary surgeon. As she laid her pet on the table, the vet pulled out his stethoscope and listened to the bird's chest.

After a moment or two, the vet shook his head and sadly said, "I'm sorry, your duck, Cuddles, has passed away."

The distressed woman wailed, "Are you sure?"

"Yes, I am sure. Your duck is dead," replied the vet..

"How can you be so sure?" she protested.. "I mean you haven't done any testing on him or anything. He might just be in a coma or something."

The vet rolled his eyes, turned around and left the room. He returned a few minutes later with a black Labrador Retriever. As the duck's owner looked on in amazement, the dog stood on his hind legs, put his front paws on the examination table and sniffed the duck from top to bottom. He then looked up at the vet with sad eyes and shook his head.

The vet patted the dog on the head and took it out of the room. A few minutes later he returned with a cat. The cat jumped on the table and also delicately sniffed the bird from head to foot. The cat sat back on its haunches, shook its head, meowed softly and strolled out of the room.

The vet looked at the woman and said, "I'm sorry, but as I said, this is most definitely, 100% certifiably, a dead duck."

The vet turned to his computer terminal, hit a few keys and produced a bill, which he handed to the woman..

The duck's owner, still in shock, took the bill. "$1,500!" she cried,"$1,500 just to tell me my duck is dead!"

The vet shrugged, "I'm sorry. If you had just taken my word for it, the bill would have been $20, but with the Lab Report and the Cat Scan, it's now $1,500."

Die Regierung der Kanarischen Inseln ruft zur Vorsicht auf und appelliert angesichts der höchsten Alarmstufe an den Selbstschutz
- Präsident Ángel Víctor Torres kündigte an, dass der Unterricht am Montag auf allen Inseln ausfallen wird.
- Der tropische Wirbelsturm wird auf dem Archipel erhebliche Niederschläge hinterlassen
- Gemeinderäte und Stadtverwaltungen aktivieren ihre Notfallpläne
Der Präsident der Kanarischen Inseln, Ángel Víctor Torres, appellierte an die "Vorsicht" und rief angesichts der "möglicherweise schwersten Regenfälle der letzten Jahre" am Wochenende zu "Selbstschutz und höchster Vorsicht" auf. Torres kündigte an, dass alle Aktivitäten ab heute Abend ausgesetzt werden, bis die höchste Alarmstufe geändert wird. Im Moment deuten die Prognosen darauf hin, dass der Kern des Wirbelsturms die Inseln nicht berühren wird, aber das meteorologische Phänomen wird erhebliche Niederschläge auf dem Archipel hinterlassen.
Ángel Víctor Torres wies darauf hin, dass die Regierung "angesichts der Ausrufung der höchsten Alarmstufe für Regen, Überschwemmungen, Stürme und Winde beschlossen hat, den Unterricht am kommenden Montag auszusetzen" und forderte die Bevölkerung auf, "sich aus offiziellen Quellen zu informieren und die Empfehlungen des Zivilschutzes zu beachten".
Die AEMET hat eine Sonderwarnung für einen tropischen Wirbelsturm mit indirekten Auswirkungen auf die Kanarischen Inseln herausgegeben, da der Kern nicht erwartet wird, aber er wird über das Wochenende und am Montag starke Regenfälle hinterlassen. Nach Angaben des AEMET-Delegierten auf den Kanarischen Inseln, David Suárez, bestand heute Morgen eine Wahrscheinlichkeit von 80 % für die Bildung eines tropischen Wirbelsturms. Am Mittag hat das Nationale Hurrikan-Zentrum die Kategorie des tropischen Tiefdruckgebiets 10 festgelegt, das sich vor den Kapverden befindet, 1.500 km von den Kanarischen Inseln entfernt.

Phillip came to me today,
and said it was time to go.
I looked at him and smiled,
as i whispered that "I know"

I then turned and looked behind me,
and seen I was asleep.
All my Family were around me,
and I could hear them weep.

I gently touched each shoulder,
with Phillip by my side.
Then I turned away and walked,
with My Angel guide.

Phillip held my hand,
as he lead the way,
to a world where King's and Queens,
are Monarch's every day.

I was given a crown to wear
or a Halo known by some.
The difference is up here,
they are worn by everyone.

I felt a sense of peace,
my reign had seen its end.
70 years I had served my Country,
as the peoples friend.

Thank you for the years,
for all your time and love.
Now I am one of two again,
in our Palace up above.

We are looking for another full-time pool cleaner to join our expanding team who ideally needs to be based in Playa Blanca as this role may involve call outs.
This will be approximately a round of 20+ pools, that will need 1 or 2 cleans per week depending on occupancy.

We are looking for a person on a self-employed basis (Automono, therefore fully legal)
A full valid driving license is essential, and a vehicle will be supplied to the succesful applicant.

A reasonable understanding of the English language required.
We can provide the relevant training to the right applicant so experience is not essential.

Easier Entry for UKNS at Spanish airports.

The Spanish authorities have decided to change the passport rules for British holidaymakers at selected airports to avoid queues for the summer season.

Under the new rules, citizens of the United Kingdom will now be permitted to use the EU e-gates in the airports of the: Gran Canaries, Fuerteventura, Tenerife Sur, Alicante, Barcelona, Bilbao, Girona, Ibiza, Lanzarote, Madrid, Málaga, Mallorca, Menorca, Valencia y Sevilla.

Hi All
I thought i would post this here as we are having increasing request from guests in villas to stay in villas later than 1000 hours on the departure day as they have late flights.
This 99% of the time is not possible as there are guests arriving the same day and the villas have to be cleaned and prepared for their arrival.

Your options are

1. Book an extra night in the villa when you make the booking and you know you have a later flight. Then you can stay in the villa until flight time.

2. If you have a car, spend your last day seeing some of the island before going to the airport for your flight.
