At the end of a session training shoulders it is always a good idea to train the rotator muscles to help keep the shoulder stable and healthy.
Here is a external rotator exercise working the supraspinatus muscle and teres minor. I use a cable to keep the resistance working laterally rather than horizontally (using gravity) as this puts tension on bicep and removes contraction away from rotator cuff. Try to keep a light weight and a slow tempo to really get the benefit from this exercise

27/03/2023

I will now be taking my bookings for next week at Glamrus El Raso (mondays)
Available appointments still available for this week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) at Shamballa Crystal
I will also announce that treatments are available (Friday only) at Muscle therapy center near Habaneras shopping Plaza starting this week 💙💙

Did you know that the strength and flexibility of your big toe can impact your posture?

The big toe plays an important role in the mechanics of the lower body, particularly during gait (walking and running). As the foot rolls forward, the big toe pushes off the ground and propels the body forward.

A foot imbalance can affect the mechanics of the big toe by altering the way the weight is distributed across the foot, leading to decreased function, reduced propulsion, and increased risk of injury.

Here are the top 5 benefits of improving big toe function for gait:
1. Increased speed and efficiency: Improving big toe function can enhance push-off and improve walking and running speed.
2. Reduced risk of injury: Strong, flexible big toes can better adapt to different surfaces and reduce the risk of injury during gait.
3. Improved balance and stability: The big toe plays a key role in maintaining balance and stability during gait, and improving its function can enhance these factors.
4. Reduced pain and discomfort: Addressing common big toe problems can help to alleviate pain and discomfort during gait.
5. Improved overall foot health: Improving big toe function can have a positive impact on overall foot health, reducing the risk of other foot problems and improving quality of life.

After mastering the muscle up in 2020 my new goal is the L sit to handstand and then control down to Planche push up. Here I am training the Planche lean to push up and TRYING to keep strict using a wall. This exercise works the Anterior Deltoids and pectorials in a relative manner to acheive my goal. I also use a tape to measure my hand distance from the wall. Once the hands reach the hip line the counterbalance from the pelvis will allow the legs to lift by activating the glutes and the body is held just by the hands from this point. I will give myself 6 months to get this cracked.

I learned a valuable lesson today also so please take note if this is something you want to learn
ALWAYS train chalestenics BEFORE you fatigue muscles with weights as this will limit your progression during practice

Deep tissue massage is a massage technique that’s mainly used to treat musculoskeletal issues, such as strains and sports injuries. It involves applying sustained pressure using slow, deep strokes to target the inner layers of your muscles and connective tissues. This helps to break up scar tissue that forms following an injury and reduce tension in muscle and tissue.

It may also promote faster healing by increasing blood flow and reducing inflammation.

Deep tissue massage offers both physical and psychological benefits. Unlike other massage techniques that focus on relaxation, deep tissue massage helps to treat muscle pain and improve stiffness. But it can still help to you unwind mentally, too.

If you would like a treatment with me or one of my other services please contact me or visit the Shamballa Crystal shop

The gluteal muscles have an essential function to counteract an anterior pelvic tilt.

But what causes weak glutes?

Factors such as sitting down for long periods can result in the hip flexors becoming chronically tight and overactive.

But did you know that your foot posture heavily influences your pelvis position?

Let's take a closer look.

When the foot hits the ground, a series of events extending throughout the body is set into motion.

The foot functions as one link in a biomechanical kinetic chain, where movement at one joint influences movement at other joints in the chain.

As the base of this chain, the foot is subject to the forces of ground contact with every step, cushioning the body on landing and launching the frame forward immediately thereafter.

When we have a foot imbalance, the glutes can be deactivated -and we begin to lose our ability to stand upright efficiently.

Common indicators of postural imbalances also include head tilt, shoulder tilt, hip tilt and compromised sagittal plane. All can lead to low-back pain, neck pain, and increased wear on joint tissues.

Your jaw can create upper cervical instability. And cervical instability can cut off blood supply to the brain stem via the vertebral artery.

Cervical instability can cause a decrease in neurological functions of the lower part of the brain stem affecting the vagus, glossopharyngeal and accessory nerve.

Over time, forward head posture can lead to muscle imbalances as the body tries to adapt and find efficient ways to hold the head up for straight-ahead vision.

Changes to the position of C1 and C2 can cause deceased blood flow to the brain via the vertebral artery.

New studies are showing that correction of cervical lordosis may be associated with an immediate increase in cerebral blood flow.

⭐️⭐️ NEW CLASS ALERT⭐️⭐️

Starting Tuesday 18th October!!! 💥💪🏻🔥

04/10/2022

Forward head posture can move your cervical spine out of line. Any changes to the position of C1 and C2 can cause decreased blood flow to the brain via the vertebral artery.

New studies are showing that correction of cervical lordosis may be associated with an immediate increase in cerebral blood flow.
These issues can be rectified using functional movements and posture correction techniques.

Improve Your Posture and Flexibility

The muscles of your eyes move more than 100 000 times a day. Therefore, an eye imbalance reinforces imbalances in body postures.

Better convergence targets the neuro-sensory-motor system, which improves concentration to maximize the use of peripheral awareness, speed and accuracy of eye-hand responses, and the anticipation of movement.

The benefits of symmetrical eye convergence are:

▪️Injury prevention
▪️Decision making
▪️Eye-hand coordination
▪️Peripheral attention
▪️Cognitive abilities
▪️Reaction time
▪️Energy expenditure
