26th International Open Draughts Tournament in SALOU, Spain, 24 May - 3 June 2025

We're excited to announce our 26th International Open Draughts Tournament in Salou, Spain.
The tournament dates are from Sunday, 25th May to Monday, 2nd June 2025. The standard arrival date is 24th May and the standard departure date is 3rd June.

The tournament format will be the Swiss system, based on Solkoff, spanning 9 rounds. We'll be adhering to FMJD rules with a time control of 1 hour and 20 minutes for each player, plus an additional 1 minute per move. For more details, please refer to the complete program.

Our tournament has consistently been a highlight in the draughts community. With 25+ years of unwavering success, participants and their companions can look forward to an enriching experience.
This is accentuated by our pristine beachside location (just 50 meters away), quality hotel accommodations at the 4-star Hotel Cala Font (hosting us for the 21th time!), and of course, the thrilling games where seasoned players and enthusiastic amateurs come head to head. As always, we're eager to have the world's top male and female players join us in Salou, offering an exhilarating challenge for all participants.

A quick heads-up: In past years, registrations often surpassed our current cap of 124 participants (and we expect it again in 2025). Latecomers might find themselves on a waiting list. So, an early sign-up is your best bet!
Also the flight tickets often become much more expensive if you wait too long.

Na de traditionele rustdag op vrijdag, gaat het Salou Open international draughts tournament vanmiddag weer verder met de zevende speelronde. TeamNL'er Martijn van IJzendoorn staat op dit moment derde en neemt het vandaag op tegen Oekraïner Yuriy Lagoda.
