This time I’ve got a group picture… 😅 they took it right before leaving so they could not forget, and delivered, again, at the end of the day, pretending it was perfectly normal😑

The butterfly ray has a very short tail, which measures about a quarter of its body. The skin is dark brown above, sometimes with small lighter or darker spots.
These species are considered to be Critically Endangered in areas such as the southwest Atlantic and the Mediterranean, where catches have drastically declined up to 99% due to fishing happening year-round.

Officially Open Water Diver! Felicitaciones Mati, Many adventures are coming!

Meet Kayla (renamed after a BCD 🤪) our cat! resident in the San Augustin Shopping Center and consistent customer of our dive center for breakfast and lunch! Happy international cat day!

Today was a good day to be Nitrox diving!
Myles and His diver were lucky enough to see the following on the first dive:-
9 Rays (Stingrays, Bullrays & Common eagle rays), although they missed the Butterfly ray as they were too busy watching a large turtle swim away into the distance, a good size Atlantic Triggerfish, huge school of barracuda hunting all round them, a school of Spanish mackerel then decided to join the hunt only to be subsequently hunted by the barracudas!. Huge schools of roncadores were all around the dive site. Myles spotted another ray only for a smaller turtle to join them swimming alongside for 3-4 minutes, it was then 52 minutes into the dive and time for a safety stop at 5m only to be surrounded by three 2m long Wahoo (think Barracuda on steroids!) who proceeded to circle them for 5 mins at a distance of 2-3m, pretty good 58 minute dive at 21m.

Second dive at a different site included 4 more stingrays, more Trumpetfish than was Possible to count, 6 morays plus one Fangtooth moray and 5 Filefish, Myles also had a juvenile Guinean Puffer take a big interest in his torch and his mask for a few minutes, another good dive for 70 minutes at 15m.
