Not one, but two seahorses together! When mating they swim together over the reef with their tails entwined before the female deposits the eggs in a ´kangaroo pounch´ on the male, who then looks after them till they hatch. Golden-tail moray (Gymnothorax miliaris). It is very unusual to find these during the day. They are rare in Gran Canaria and there is only a small population in Arinaga (2-4?) and they are generally more active at night, hence the Spanish name... A week for the family ´Syngnathidae´ - two differnt seahorses (hippocampus hippocampus) and the very difficult to spot pipefish (pejepipa in Spanish) -syngathus typhle.
