A few hours ago our colleague Maite left the Sanctuary to collect the fruit for the inhabitants and just on her way out she found her.

She stopped the van and got out after her, it was when she could observe the serious clinical condition in which the little girl is 💔 who may have suffered a run over in addition to continued abandonment.

She quickly brought her to the Sanctuary and we started with Lis, the vet who lives with us, to do the first tests and cures, in addition to feeding her and giving her water, because she was exhausted 😩

She has a very hard and large lump in one of her breasts as well as a possible hip fracture that prevents her from standing on her leg and causes pain to her.

We are very sad about her condition, her lump must have been growing for years and this must have caused her a lot of pain and discomfort.

Granny Paris has come to the Sanctuary with great veterinary needs: obviously for years she has not been offered the minimum care that she needed and this must have made her live a life of constant discomfort.

She has closed ulcers in her eyes, some of them serious ones that have completely taken away the vision of one of them and that can no longer be treated.

Her mouth is really badly: she has a lot of tartar and several teeth have to be removed.

She has also frequently suffered from cystitis for a long time and it is very important to avoid pyometra at her age, a uterine infection that can be fatal and is one of the reasons why veterinarians always recommend spaying of females.

The most uncomfortable thing for her, despite everything, is the respiratory problem she suffers and which has not been given a solution or treatment in years, this type of breed is predisposed to suffer from brachiencephalic syndrome that produces this constant respiratory difficulty that affects her life in all aspects.

Without corticosteroids, she can barely rest at night because she has a lot of coughing and whenever she is happy or excited about something, she has an outbreak again, besides, her normal breathing is this that you can see in the video 😟

Paris is an elderly who has unfortunately arrived at the Refuge after her family could not take care of her.

♥️ ROSA ♥️ she deserves to be taken care of.

Rosa is a fighter, she survived a horrible past: she was picked up along with hundreds of other companions from a shed among corpses.

A few weeks ago she began to have an obvious weight loss and was moved to observation in the infirmary area.

A few days later she began to show weakness in her hind legs and we decided to go urgently to the Veterinary Faculty of Caceres for diagnostic tests, after a week of admission we learned that she suffers a congenital lumbosacral injury.

Rural veterinary science or the one based on the exploitation of these animals for their best performance is the only option that we can offer them in Andalusia where there are no clinics or hospitals that give dignified care to small ruminants.

And can you imagine why? Because the market value of sheep is minimal, much less than a veterinary visit and of course much less than all the tests that Rosa has needed.

As farmers do not make use of these minimum services for their animals, veterinarians do not see a market for them and decide to obviate the suffering of these animals.

At best, she would have been euthanized on the farm directly, or they would have left her to die in a corner.

UNDERSTANDING that the system is created for the benefit of the industry is VERY IMPORTANT so that you can see Rosa and not just a tool to produce milk or wool.

She just made our day and we wanted to share it first of all with you, who are collaborating directly to make this happen.

As you know, yesterday we picked up Bailarina in an extreme condition, on the brink of death.

After stabilizing her, we were able to take her to the clinic where she was admitted to the emergency room in intensive care.

From the moment we saw the sparkle in her eyes we knew that she wanted to fight, and she has not stopped doing it, even when everything was really difficult.

Yesterday she began to eat from our hand and she has spent the night very stable, recovering her strength and assimilating the treatments and vitamins that she is receiving.

♥️ The video speaks for itself, her tail wagging and her gaze changing little by little ... really, we are really happy, it was very hard yesterday to think that she was going and in the worst circumstances.

😞 It is not fair that dogs are still diying of hunger or thirst or condemned to be forgotten by owners who deny them the minimum care, and that the law does absolutely nothing to prevent it.

Situations like that of Bailarina are repeated on every street corner in southern Spain.
