Another study in oil. This little friend took me around six hours (two sessions). The objective was to explore textures and complementary colors.

What is amazing about pastels is the easiness of expressivity, just some strokes of blue and red give harmony and deepness to an other wise simple drawing.

Trust the process

Something I've learned in the last year is that there is an ugly phase on every project.

Getting the proportions right without thinking on the details is quite hard for the beginner's mind, and without details the drawing looks.... Ugly.

However, if the proportions are right the next phase is all joy. So, I say to myself: trust the process.
