Elsevier committed to support researchers and postgraduate students during the 19 pandemic and related lockdowns. ASTU library and Elsevier successfully activated remote based on institutional emails, as well as providing 50 registration codes for the users without institutional emails.

Please note that any email ending with the domain (.edu.et) is recognized for application Technology. Users can simply visit https://bit.ly/sd-eg and type their institutional email. They will be sent an email with confirmation link.

Their institutional emails are also recognized on Scopus when they try to sign in or check access.

Message from ASTU Library,

In 2012, the SpringerLink platform was redeveloped with a new state-of- the-art backend technology in order to handle the ever-growing traffic and better serve researchers and students discovering content via SpringerLink. Consequently, they retired their old platform URL of www.springerlink.com and transitioned the SpringerLink platform URL to link.springer.com. They built a piece of software to redirect the old URLs to the new ones. This was intended as a temporary measure to allow our customers time to update their catalog records.

After seven years of running quietly and somewhat forgotten in the background, this temporary redirection software was recently switched off during an internal data center migration. As a result, they’ve discovered that a number of external systems were still pointing at our obsolete URL and that they had some DOI re-registration failures. So, ASTU library urge all users to ensure their systems are up to date with this current URL, link.springer.com to avoid any access issues.
