🌱☕️💯In Ethiopia, coffee is never drunk alone! The jebena (pottery coffee pot) is a symbol of community and tradition. Coffee is shared during the traditional coffee ceremony. Did you know that Arabica coffee was first discovered in Ethiopia, which is Africa’s largest and the world’s fifth largest coffee producer, growing an impressive 450,000 tons annually?

🦊The Sanetti Plateau (Bale Mountain National Park) is located 4,000 meters above sea level and is characterized by rocky plateaus, and striking Afroalpine flora, including the giant lobelia and red hot poker. This is the best place in Ethiopia to see the Simien wolf, the rarest canid in the world. The Bale Mountain National Park spans over 2,200 square kilometres - a protected area that is currently on UNESCO’s tentative list.

🌹💐✈️ Did you know that Ethiopia has a blossoming floriculture industry? The country is currently the sixth-largest rose exporter, globally, and the second-largest in Africa. The altitude and cooler climate in certain parts of the country make it perfect for cultivating cut flowers.

😍👌💯 Looking out over Lake Tana, Kuriftu Resort & Spa is a haven of luxury and tranquility. Bahir Dar, which means “by the side of the sea“ in Amharic, is a port city located on the southern shore of Lake Tana, Ethiopia’s largest lake.
😋😋If you have ever visited Ethiopia you will agree that Ethiopian food bursts with flavor, largely due to the delicious local spice blend, berbere. Although most Ethiopians love meat, they only eat animal products on non-fasting days. The majority of Ethiopians belong to the Ethiopian Christian Orthodox faith. As around 200 days a year are fasting days in Ethiopian Christian Orthodoxy, fasting food is readily available and unbelievably delicious. Saucy stews make perfect accompaniments for every Ethiopian’s favorite
food, injera, a sourdough flatbread made from teff flour.
📷✈️🗺The Omo Valley tribes keep their ancient traditions alive, with very little influence from the modern world. The Hamer are easily identifiable by their body adornments and unique hairstyles, which all bear symbolic significance. Creating a paste from fat, ochre, and water, the married women form russet braids that are called Gosha. When men kill an enemy or dangerous animal they wear a clay bun for a year. A natural treasure in Ethiopia, the Bale Mountain National Park lies 400km southeast of Addis Ababa. The Sanetti Plateau rises to over 4,000 masl and features breathtaking Afro-montane vegetation, glacial lakes and volcanic ridges. In Ethiopia, buna (coffee) brings friends and family together every day. During a traditional coffee ceremony, locals celebrate life, togetherness and exceptional Arabica coffee. Beans are roasted over a coal fire, then brewed in a pottery jebena before being served in tiny cups called sini. After the first delicious sip, you can surely tell your host “konjo buna”, which means “this coffee is delicious!”😋😋💯☕️
